Felt sad today...

When I realized what happened three years ago this week when tragedy took one of my best friends. And I'm also going to post in memory of my other friend who I also lost within a year later though the exact details of 'when' is not certain.

I lost two great friends and the community lost a couple of phenomenal and creative skinners.

Indeed, they will be missed. I was surprised no one brought up Pdox on his bday a few weeks back.

I'm kinda confused on Matrix though. I thought he was just away from the community...not "lost". Was that not the case? :o

Matrix was one of the first openly gay members of the community. Was very proud of who he was and what he represented.

He also was not ashamed to tell anyone he was HIV positive if asked. He has been doing good for a long time... but suddenly took a turn for the worst. After Wil went missing for a couple of months... his 'husband' contacted me and let me know that he was in the hospital and had been for a while battling pneumonia... one of the worst ailments for HIV positive or people with AIDS to come down with. That was around March 06. All of Wil's MSN and Yahoo pages both FF related and not have since gone untouched.

Kinda obvious what ultimately occurred :(

I always wondered what happened to Matrix. This is really sad, he was a good friend and I miss working with him.

I unfortunately wasn't around to get to know either of these guys, or Webrider for that matter, but I'm sorry for you guys. They seemed like great people.

Paradox's death was quite a blow. I didn't realize about Matrix though. :(

I remember waiting with bated breath for each new Marvel skin that Matrix might release. 'Twas years ago, now, and I deeply regret his loss. I also regret that I was only a fan and never bold enough to befriend him.

I miss Paradox as well. Not only did he design my Whiskey Saint Avatar but he and I also had a lot of good conversations in the chat shack back in the day.

My memory isn't that great, but I do recall both of them here on the forums years ago. They were both very talented guys...A great loss to our community. I'm sorry for the loss of your friends, HQ....I wish I had known them better.

I have more memories of Paradox, as he posted in a lot of the same silly threads I did, plus the odd chatshack session; and he created the definitive Phantom Eyebrow skin. They were two great skinners and both always struck me as very decent guys. They are both missed.

This was before my time, but I more than understand the hurt of an unexpected loss. I'm sorry that I didn't get a chance to meet either one, they both seem to have been well liked by the community.

I had no clue about Matrix. We talked a few times and I always enjoyed seeing his work, I assumed he was off doing other things. I'm really sorry to hear this news. If it weird I actually thought about Paradox the other day completely out of the blue when I was on the board. And let's not forget Webrider, he was always a great guy and his death so sudden. Everyone will be greatly missed.

Matrix used to love to make things shiny. Really shiny. I used to bug him about it in the few chats we had. I remember once I got him to make his version of my avatar, and his utter shock at the fact the Kommando mesh had no reflection layer. A while back, I thought it a shame he wasn't around for scoping where apparently such layers can be enabled. He would have loved that I think.

I had no idea that Matrix passed away. I remember Paradox and Commander Carrot, though. I adore Paradox's Ten skins, and Carrot's meshes are so unique. Heh.

I didn't know about Matrix (I knew he was gay and HIV positive, but knew nothing about the pneumonia), that's terrible. Paradox was practically my first friend on these boards, he encouraged me to skin, in spite of the fact I sucked. I really miss talking to him. I didn't know CC nearly as well as the others, but I know what he contributed in the early days. I've still got that rabbit-headed mesh somewhere. They were all great creators and it's a great shame they're no longer with us.

I have fond memories of Paradox and Matrix.. Three years definitely feels way too long. Geez... It's so strange to find out that someone that you knew via the internet is "gone." Not just stopped posting gone, but "gone..." it suddenly makes them more than a name and skins and other stuff.. suddenly you realize that they were someone you actually saw as a member of your community..

Commander Carrot's passing was an especially weird one for me though.. he and I collaborated on a bunch of FX (back in my FXForce days) and were even talking about doing a mod based on ReBoot (something he and I shared a mutual fondness for, and from which he derived the name 'Web Rider') right before it happened...

To all our comrades who were taken from this world too soon; know that you're missed.

I'm sorry about my english that doesn't let me to explain what i'm feeling... just say that Matrix were a very close friend when i started in the forum (years ago) and it have been shocking for me to know that he has gone...

I really thougt he will come in other time, but now it's impossible...
