FX tangle problem...

Some FXs that work with statis (meaning they tangle) sometimes bother me when I see the tangle anims that is not tangling in the center of the character mesh being tangled.  I mean for example, I'm sure alot has seen the bat bola FX tangles but not at the center of the mesh.  How can I fix this?
