How many 50's are there?

The gist, as of April 27 when this article was posted:

During the first three years of the game, more than 24 million characters have been created in City of Heroes and City of Villains with more than 102,000 of those characters reaching level 50, the game's top tier. The game is also renowned for its ease of cooperative role-playing, resulting in the creation of more than 654,000 super groups, and the building of more than 66,000 super group bases.

So I figure maybe round that up to 150k level 50's now, and maybe add another million created. So 150k out of 25 million. That's probably over-estimating, but it gives nice round numbers to work with. No wonder they enabled millions of names with the name wipe.

Actually i never figured that this game had figures that strong, any idea where they stand these days?

I had no idea there were so many level 50's.

I wonder how many of those are relatively active.

And more than half of those 50s belong to Ephy and Mikey.  :)

The "24 million characters created" stat is misleading.  I would find it helpful to also know how many lvl 50s there were out of all the people playing.
