Making fliers to fly lesser...

Gents, don't you gent annoyed when the enemy AI flying characters just fly around and then for a matter of seconds they land and execute a melee attack then fly out of the fight?  Has anyone had some sort of 'cure' for this thing?  I just want the enemy AI flying characters to fly lesser and fight you more with melee.  I renamed the fly anims to run but the result is just a low flying character which can be eliminated with ground attacks which looks inappropriate since they are airborne.  Anything better than this?

Lunarman

You can probably change it using M25's AI. But really, if you were a flying melee char then you'd try and stay in the air as much as possible, only landing when you really have to. Right?

It can be #@! frustrating to melee against such a character.

To expand somewhat on Lunarman's idea, M25 AI is definitively the way to go. Run the character through the "FFX tool: M25 AI generator" Rumble Room mission. Edit the AI file in Notepad to change th flying frequency. Cf. the FFX manual, under "M25 AI", "At a Glance" and "AI Tactics Docs" under "Tactics Descriptions: Movement".

M25

If you run it through the AI generator, you might not have to modify the AI at all.  It sounds like you are using the default game AI.

I was referring to the enemy AI my friend, it keeps on flying and lands for some time and then gives me with those annoying hit-and-run tactics, and even if I chose a flying character, I only fly when I have to go some place and still land and fight the little bugger hand to hand.

This sounds promising, I give this a try.  Can I also change something to make the AI characters wield light posts and throw you stuffs?

Hmmm, I honestly don't get what you mean but I'm using the latest FFX.

Go to the rumble room on FFX. Make sure you've run the FFX control centre on your char and then choose th M25 Ai generator from the rumble room game list. Then pick the bad guy and run him through.

I was just saying that hit-and-run attacks is the most natural way to fight if you can fly. If you want him to just run in on the ground and start punching then just don't give him fly :)

but running foes through M25s AI generator should greatly improve your combat experience ;P

M25

Enemy characters can't wield lamp posts or the like, although they can throw things.  The AI generated for a character will include throwing objects if the character is reasonably strong.
