Iceman meshes with ice on ground when flying and hovering...

Besides Tommy's Iceman that stands on ice attached on the ground when flying and hovering, is there anything more of like this?

Previsionary

Bobby69/Vertex has made one that flies/hovers on Ice (as seen in my Xmen mods) and I believe Ink may have a modified version of Vert's Iceman that does the same...with more particles? I can't recall. I believe it was named Iceman_classic which you can find in the Ink associated groups. (Check the forums for Ink's GPL mesh groups).

You can find links to most of those on NPI or on the master mesh list.

Hmm.. didn't somebody just do some new keyframes for Iceman?  Also, I think there was a really slow hexxer who was procrastinating on putting ice vapour effects on him?   ^_^

He's next on my list!  I swear!!

Ink did a modern Iceman? I don't think I have that, anyone got it?

What was the difference between it and other Icemen?

Indigo

Well, these are the Iceman meshes I have...

1. Classic Iceman by Ink
2. Iceman by Tommy
3. Iceman_crystal69 by Bobby69
4. Iceman69 by Bobby 69

I want to try out other Iceman meshes, similar to Tommy's Iceman with the ice touching the ground as we can see in the screenie.  I don't mean to be disrespectful but Ink's and Bobby69's Iceman makes it look like they are  hovering in the air.  If you guys know of any Iceman meshes I'm describing, pls send it to me.

Thanks in advance.

No, it is similar to the other Bobby69 Iceman meshes. Only tommyboy's has the slide shaped that way, that I know of.

Previsionary

agh, ninja'd by revenant! Pesky ninjas. But he's correct. Is there a particular reason you want the ice slope touching the ground?

Indigo

Well...

Any takers in here? :(

Rev, I will love you for life if you can make his ice slope touch the ground and extend for a short period of time.

Unfortunately, doing something like that is beyond my skills and tools... What I'm workin on is a hex of Bobby69's Iceman with different vapour FX, and a sparkle effect like the one on the Frozen Giant.  His Ice slide will also have the vapour effect and sparkles, but it is shaped more like a "floating platform."

I could try modifying the particles in nifskope so that the slide ones last a moment longer, so in flight, it'll look like it has a more lingering trail of ice.  I think that's the way it looks in X-Men Legends.

To make an actual trail that moves the way it is in your picture.. I think a mesher would be able to answer better, but I'll venture to say that it's not possible in the FF game engine..

Previsionary

No, it's not really possible to make an ice trail like that in the game beyond what tommy did. Even from your pic it doesnt seem like it's really touching the ground, but eh. A slope like that would essentially slide in and out of objects and it looks really weird when moving, imo, with the slope still following behind.

To me it seems like you're looking for something similar to the xmen 3 game, no? They had an engine that could handle that, FF doesnt. Sorries.

detourne_me

it would be possible to add tommyboy's slope into the bobby69 mesh using nifskope.  that way you can get the cool icy look, and the touching the ground slope.

Another possibility:

If you want a trail of "ice" to follow him, from the ground where he takes off to whatever point he flies to, it might be possible with particle emitters.  They could be textured to look like plates of ice, and set to a longer decay time  (so they stay floating for a while) and a very slow speed (so they don't float around, the way the flame effects do) before shrinking.

It would look similar to the effect that happens in a lot of projectiles like the homing arrow for instance.

I will give this a try on that hex, after I release the version I have so far.

Yes!  Just like the Flash meshes around, they leave some sort of a trail when he runs.  Keep us posted Rev. ^_^

I will.  is there an ice-slide type attribute for FFX?  Maybe I'm thinking of Limited Flight.

Maybe Iceman's keyframes can be hexxed so that the flight animation is copied, and renamed to 'Special'.  then you can give him the power 'sprint' or running charge, and he'll build the ice slide for when he wants to ram into opponents or gain a quick speed burst.

Also you could hex the flight animation for use as his climb, so it looks like he's building the ice ramp to scale the side of buildings.  And then of course give him the attribute 'wall-climbing.'
