I have no desire to see something thats been on tv for well over 10 years for free as a movie... especially sinces its still on tv.  Theres no great cliffhanger to be solved.  No want for something nostalgic thats not been on tv for a decade.  No curiosity to see how someone else envisioned them... because its the same thing, same medium.

Mr. Hamrick

I have to concur with RTTingle.

I generally have not cared for The Simpsons in years.  I've never been a big fan of the show actually.

guys i'm going to be perfectly honest, yes its still on tv, but you have to see this film, its classic simpsons i have never seen a full cinema laugh so much in my life

I agree that the Simpsons has been coasting on bland autopilot for years... however, I will go see it eventually.
Now my question to everyone who has seen the trailer...
Why is that Spider Pig joke so funny?

Everyone laughs at it.
Me, My Friends, My dad (who HATES the Simpsons)...
Its a dumb joke.
And yet we cant help ourselves.
Its weird.

GGiant

I watched The Simpsons many times on my TV.
But I don't think I will watch the movie. :(

JeyNyce

I've heard that for fans who stop watching the show this movie have all of the classic humor that may us watch it in the beginning.

BentonGrey

Well, it was alright, but all in all, my wife and I were pretty disappointed with it.  Several things in it bothered us, one in particular, and it wasn't really as funny as we'd hoped.

XLR8er

you guys see the part where homer flips everybody off?
lol

MJB

Saw the movie and enjoyed it. Fun was had by all.

A friend of mine has the personality where I could see him actually doing that. So every time I see Homer doing it on the commercial, my buddy comes to mind and I laugh. It's so random and pointless that it just comes across as funny. Hell, Family Guy has made bank doing the same thing.

Saw it. Funny as hell.

Same here. I've been saying for a while, like pretty much any anime movie or animated movie of an animated series, it's like an extra long episode of the show. Fortunately, it's one of the better episodes.

Yes, Spider-Pig is VERY funny. My favourite part was this part of the song (not used in trailers)
"Can he swing,
From a web?
No he can't
He's a Pig!"

LOL! :D

The appearance of the President was a absolute hoot. I think that might have gotten one of if not the biggest laugh in the theatre. And lastly, for some irrevelant reason, I can't stop thinking about how funny the concept "Grand Theft Walrus" is to me. That, in my mind, is what you would call "so random and pointless that it just comes across as funny"

thanoson

I thought it was also verry funny. Spiderpig is awesome.

Ephern hilarious.

It was really funny. Even my friend who stopped watching Simpsons years ago had a good laugh.

It's always a little weird to watch TV shows as movies, because of the extra leeway they get in terms of censorship. Bart's skateboarding and Homer flipping everyone off caught me a little by surprise, but ultimately had me laughing.

Silver Shocker

Yeah, I felt that way too. I seem to recall at least one more thing that was the kind of content you wouldn't see in the show, but I can't remember what. I remember how there were two versions of the Batman Beyond movie, with the one having more "adult" content.
