Uncle Yuan

After some thought, I've decided to suspend my account for the time being.  I've found myself playing less and less recently - both for RL as well as in-game reasons.  Like playing for nearly a year and a half with no 50s.  (All congrats to MJB for hitting, but it just depressed the heck out me. . .)  Not to mention that the only real game play amounts to killing things.

Go ahead and boot my characters from groups as needed.  I could very well be back in a couple of months, but if so I deal with getting toons back in groups then.

Thanks to all the folks who took the time to teach me how to play better, donated their influence, and helped with AVs.  FR is a great on-line community and it was a pleasure to hang out with you all.

MJB

Take all the time you need Mr. Uncle sir. I'm not sure what me hitting 50 has to do with you not hitting 50. Different play styles produce different results. I chose to focus on 1 toon without much deviation.

It was the time thing.  My year and a half to your couple of months.  I realize that my alt-itis does have a lot to do with this, as does my choice of primary toon, but the overall lack of progress does underscore my feelings about the game as of late.

I get tired of the game every now and then, and take a break, or at least reduce the amount of time I play. In fact, it's been a while since I played as often as I used to... So far, I've always ended up coming back, but I certainly understand getting tired of the game after a while. I've been seriously considering taking a real break from the game... I find the addition of inventions more annoying than fun- there are things I'd like to do with certain possible inventions, but I find nothing about the way they've been implemented (in terms of doing the inventing, collecting the pieces, using Wentworth's...) to be fun for me. That, combined with the fact that I was already in one of my "tired of the game" phases before I9, has led to me playing less frequently. I'll probably get more ehavily into the game again at some point, though... I always do... If nothing else, curiosity about what's coming next tends to bring me back...

For that matter, maybe this game just isn't for you. There's certainly nothing wrong with that.

El Condor

It sounds as though you've really given this some thought.  I'm actually impressed that, as a doctor-in-training, you've been able to play as much as you have.  Whatever your long-term status, good luck with the road ahead.  I do hope that you can get back to playing at some point, but don't be a stranger on the boards in the meantime!  ;)

Oh man, no way that's at risk.  If I spent less time hangining out here I might have more time to play CoH!!

BlueBard

Well, glad you're sticking around the forums anyway.

Vet rewards are the only thing keeping me playing.  That and getting a cape on certain characters.  I might cut back for awhile myself once I get vet wings.

I think Inventions might be okay if they weren't so dependent on dropped recipes and if Wentworths was a more viable option to trade.  They just about need "Salvage Stores" for the folks who don't want to deal with Wentworths, then recipe drops would be okay.  Trying to gather both recipes and salvage at the same time while spending influence on top of THAT is a bit much.

Not going to get on my high horse on Inventions, though.  See you 'round UY!

The Phantom Eyebrow

Well I never got to team up with you but its good to hear you're still haning out on the boards.

Lionheart

I've been hooked on Lord of the Rings Online. I still play CoH sometimes, but since LOTRO went live, I've spent most of my online time there.

Bad timing, since the Sagacious Brow just joined CoH. (Welcome aboard, TPE!  :) )
