I admit that I haven't read DC comics, pretty much ever.  My only 'in-road' into the DC Universe has been limited to whatever batman/superman movie has been released and the various Warner Bros cartoons (which I love all of them).  I just finished watching season 2 of the Justice League cartoon and after visiting a comics store, decided to pickup JLA #1.

Wow.

I called up the comic book store last week and ordered JLA #2-6.

Wow. Wow.

I was completely enthralled by what I was reading.  I haven't had that much fun reading comics in a long long time. I felt like I was 12 again and discovering my cousin's comic collection.  I was gleefully surprised to see that JLA #7 went onsale today. I immediately picked up the phone and ordered it - I can't wait to get it in my hands. #7 wraps up the Red Tornado story arc, and what a story arc it has been.

With oddness happening with my beloved Avengers I've found a new comfort in the super heroics of the JLA.  There's also a sense of newness and freshness in not knowing who people like Canary, Black Lightning, Red Tornado, and Red Archer are. Even the villains (who's names escape me at the moment) I know nothing about.  For me that's been part of the fun.

Here's to hoping the series has a great life like the first 6 episodes have been.

Always happy to see some one find a comic they enjoy.  :D
