I was wondering if anybody had a copy of the tommy_versatile mesh hexed down to just a male_basic for  :ffvstr:. If so, a copy of such would be greatly appreciated.

Umm...you do know that what you would end up with would basically be irrationals male_basic, since I made mine to be compatible with all male basic skins and keyframes?
So you could just start with a male_basic (or whatever the FFV3r version was called).
Having said that.
I am probably going to release a tom_basic_fingers, which will be male_basic compatible, but with fingers, and in a thin, basic and muscular flavours.
But it may be a while yet.
Busy, so busy.

So would your fingers mesh be compatible with Vertex's already excellent VX Mesh keyframes, or are you building your own?

thanks, and looking forward to this eventual release

As I said, "which will be male_basic compatible".
I'd rather keep the flexibility and utility of male_basic compatibility.
So if you hate MY paltry animation skills, but want to nifskope my mesh, you aren't stuck with my animations. You have the choice of mine, Irrational's, Grenadier's, Vertex's, Renegade's, Valandar's etc etc etc.
Only with a character like Doc Strange or Spider-man is there a point to having individual finger motion, in my opinion. I dont know if you've seen Marvel Ultimate Alliance, every mesh in it has fingers, and they look great because of it, but they just use two bones for all four fingers, same as a "standard" no-fingered FF mesh. And you never notice, because in superhero videogames, people rarely point, or pick their noses, or use touch-tone phones. So I think that the cost of having the option of individually animated fingers isn't worth the cost of not being able to choose from 50 different keyframe sets by a dozen different animators.
Of course, if I could animate as well as Vertex can, I'd have my own keyframes for fingered meshes and not worry about it.
So mine will be "have fingers but they all move at the same time, and can use existing male_basic keyframes".

Sah-weet!  Any chance of a female_basic_heels in the mix?

Well a female_basic_fingers is the logical offspring of my recent MUA endeavours.
So that will come at some stage.
But I confess I'm pretty much against heels.
Now, I know, I know. I have no problem with magic hammers, sticking to walls, flying, or alien rings that mentally sculpt plasma, but find the notion of a woman fighting in heels "too unrealistic". It's bizarre and wildly inconsistant. But it's what I feel.
Plus, heels would mean extra work (not just meshing, that'd be easy, its raising the biped I wanted to avoid), so I always avoided them til now.
But it seems to be what all the cool kids are into, and I'm nothing if not desperate for scraps of approval, so I'll see if I can add them without screwing anything up too badly. I bet you want the heels skinnable too? And a chestal area on her that won't distort everything you skin on there? Well, that'll delay it a little more. But I'll see if I can do it.

From a hexing point of view, it's easier to start with everything off and turn parts on than vice versa.

Hi Tommyboy,

Your new male_basic_fingers and female_basic_fingers meshes sound really neat!  I am wondering, will the male_basic be compatible with both male_basic and male_cape key frames like your TV meshes?  Similarly, will the female_basic_fingers be compatible with both female_basic and female_cape keyframes as well?

Respectfully,

Sioux City Dynamo

Thats the plan. It worked for the original TV and tvlite meshes, so I can't see why it wouldnt for the fingered versions too.
When I actually get around to doing them. I'm a bit stuck on several MUA projects at the moment, and dividing my time and attention further would probably be counter-productive.

Great to see Tommy back where he belongs at FF!

First FF release in a while.
As requested: Tom_basic_Fingers.
Can be hexxed to a thin or a muscular version contained within. Or just delete them in NifSkope to keep filesize down.
He's compatible with Male_Basic and Male_Cape type animations, and contains the bones and dummies for if you want to nifskope in a cape.
Comes with my "flyer" keyframes, now with five added "flying_melee/hover_flying_melee" animations, and two of TaskmasterX's hexxed flying_melee versions of the Starfox and Falcon keyframes from previous releases of mine.
He's compatible with male_basic type mapping, the fingers simply map onto where the fingers went before, so no alterations needed.
I hope you like him.

Tommy,
he looks awesome. It is great to have you back doing FF related work again.

This is great!  Thanks again for this great development, Tommy!  For that matter, thanks again for all of the great meshes that you've made.

Has anybody Nifskoped on a cape?  I'm still a novice when it comes to Nifskope, so I don't know what it means to use dummies and bones to attach capes.
