Need some help...

Hey all. As some of you know, around a year ago in January I got a job at McDonald's. But I (sort of) put in my two weeks notice today. But the sorta is sorta confusing... I said that I would get a new job before actually putting in my two weeks notice. Don't ask me why I said that instead of actually putting it in. So, I just really want this job to end, so I'm going back on Monday to tell them that I changed my mind, and that I just want to put my two weeks in. So, if you have any encouraging words that would be swell, as I'm a bit worried of what their going to say...

Thanks for all your help. Especially all the advice you gave me a year ago. It all worked out awesome, and everybody loves me there. So thanks for everything, everyone.

Jaypers Spam, if you want to leave then just tell them and let that be that.  We can all get tied up with the minutiea(?) of our jobs and thinking we're indespensible and that but if you were to leave tomorrow they'd get by, so a two week notice period should be more than sufficient.  When it comes to your decision to stay or go, the sensibilities of your bosses shouldn't really be a big factor.

on one hand... the one time I left a bad job without another place to go... I spent 10 months searching for a new job -_-
on the other.... how old are you? o_O you're waaaay too young to worry about financial security :P

They key point is to leave your current job without burning any bridges behind you.  Two weeks notice is *always* good.  Do you feel like you could get a good reference from them down the road?

And Syn is right, at your age you have the luxury to not worry so much about having the next job already lined up.  Just don't do this in five years when you're actually supporting yourself!

And with any luck, in five years no one is going to care about your job at McD's.

Thanks. I guess I was worried just a bit too much...

Yeah, I think I could get a good reference from them. And yeah, I have no idea why I said I would get another job before I would quit... But oh well, it's almost over with anyways. =p

Thanks for the advice guys. I really do appreciate it. ^_^
