Amigos,

I'm looking for a little help here from those who are more PC-tech savvie than I:  I recently upgraded my video card and memory on my computer to run CoH better, and it worked great!  The game runs much more smoothly and beautifully now.  The catch is this: I can no longer watch (with one exception) streaming video any more! Everytime I click on anything that plays through Windows Media, Real Player, or Quicktime, the computer goes into memory crisis and no video plays.  That thing happens when suddenly it takes 5 minutes before the comp responds to any kind of command, and every pixel seems to take a few seconds to draw.  I usually end up having to shut the computer down (using extreme measures) and restart to normalize things.  The strange exception to this is YouTube videos - they play just fine.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the latest Nvidia drivers three times now, hoping that it was a simple driver issue. No change!  :banghead:

Do any of you more computer-brilliant folks have any idea as to what might be going on?  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I have a Dell Dimension 8300 w/Pentium4 @ 3GHz.  I went from 512 mb to 1.5 gig of RAM.  I upgraded from an Nvidia 5200 128mb AGP card to a BFG Nvidia 6600 256mb PCI card.

Gracias!
EC

Youtube videos are run by Macromedia Flash. So they are as different as apples and oranges to videos played on WM or Quicktime.

It may be as simple as updating your various video players. The versions you are using may not be compatible with your video card.
