An animation issue

Ok so I made a hex of Ink's longshot mesh removing all the extras except the hair. Only thing is that mesh only accepts it's keyframes and I'd like to use basic based ones. Is there a way to get the nif to accept other keyframes, or should I try to move the hair to another mesh?

personally i'd just move the hair to another mesh..   i've tried to put some male basic keys with ink's gambit, and they didn't work,  i think the longshot keys are the same as the gambit keys....

I was having some trouble lining it up properly when shifting it to male_basic, so I just wanted to check what my options were. Thanks.
