Howdy guys!  All of you who are Americans and of voting age, make sure you get out to the polls tomorrow.  Whatever your political leanings may be, I'm sure we can all agree that this is an important election, so let's do our civic!

(I assume that this doesn't cross any lines, as I am definitely not advocating any particular political stand, merely urging people to vote.)

thalaw2

How dare you urge me to do my civic duty?  You know as an American I have the right to sit at home and play computer games and ignor all this voting nonsense...  :D :D :D :D :D

Just kidding.  I sent my absentee in.  It was my first time voting since being overseas.  It's really a painless process...albeit expensive.  But who knows...maybe my vote will be the deciding vote in this years election and the whole country could be waiting breathlessly for the day my ballot arrives and is finally opened and counted.  The hushed crowd will listen carefully as the announcement is made "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.  BOYS AND GIRLS.  CHILDREN OF ALL AGES 1 TO 100, 2 TO 92.  THE WINNER OF THE 2008 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION IS....."

You'll all know soon enough.  I'm gonna go listen to some Sam Cooke.

BWPS

No thanks! Writing in Colbert isn't worth my time. And my time is essentially worthless.
(if this post is bad, I'm sorry in advance)

Get out of here you Canuck!   :P

I will most certainly be voting, and I will also be the elections update center for my workplace, as I'm the only one allowed to have access to a radio.

Lunarman

I'm getting up real early on Wednesday to hear the result! (blasted, living across the sea).

This election could change the fate of the world: war-ridden fuel crysis or peaceful, green-energy

Stand up ye citizens, and Vote!

Gremlin

Among a myriad of other issues. Heh.

This is my first election, and it's been interesting thus far...I only hope the numbers run smoothly and we don't have problems with machines or fraud or hanging chads or what-have-you. Whoever wins, I'd appreciate it if it was clear cut. I think the whole nation would.

Volsung

Even in france, we are holding our breath

By the way lol^^ http://www.pvponline.com/2008/11/04/smithjones-08/

I'd imagine that is getting a little to close to the line, Lunarman.

Don't you worry your politic brain, Benton.  If that non-registered voter, Lunarman, comes anywhere close to the voting line, BWPS will drive him off with a stick.

You were told that you could listen to the radio at a reasonable volume from nine to eleven, you told Bill that if Sandra is going to listen to her headphones while she's filing then you should be able to listen to the radio while you're collating so you don't see why you should have to turn down the radio because you enjoy listening at a reasonable volume from nine to eleven.

You...you...you will burn the building to the ground.

*shakes head at Tiobe in befuddlement* Being the English major that I am, I can usually keep up with you...but you lost me this time. :P

Been there, done that...Got my "I voted today" sticker.  I even signed a petition to have an issue submitted to our state for voting next year...Yay!

Finally it's here! I almost cried while I was voting today. On how I've waited for this one to come.

Same here, Ren.  Filling in a few ovals with a magic marker never felt so significant.  I suddenly felt, with a lump in my throat, that I did not want to submit my ballot--that I wanted to save it and frame it--but, of course, I knew that failing to submit it would defeat the purpose of voting.  And then, after I inserted my ballot into the tallying machine, I felt something I haven't felt in quite a long while...
Hope (As foolish as that might sound, 'tis true.).
I know completely how you feel, Ren.

I just want it all to be over and done with so we can all move on.
My brain has been tug of waring over optimism and paranoia for months...

And these things get longer and longer the older I get. I'm officially in political Burnout mode.

I do regret that it is necessary to maintain neutrality on these boards, because I am very interested in this kind of response.  I will say this, I am proud that our country has come far enough to see what we have seen this election, whatever my feelings about the candidates themselves may be.

murs47

It's official. For the first time in my life I voted. It felt good finally contributing my voice, however small it is.

I was sorely tempted to vote for Cobra Commander........let's face it, Springfield was a pretty nice little town.

That's quite hilarious, YL! :D

GogglesPizanno

No Cthulhu is NOT hilarious... it is evil and madness incarnate.
How dare you insult the terror of reality that is Cthulhu...

Maybe he could take CObra commander as a Running Mate to try and land the Joe Terrorist vote....

...

Joe Terrorist...cobra commander... totally unplanned....
Bwa ha ha ha....

Mr. Hamrick

for what its worth, I voted.  And I have never been sorrier that there was no "None of the Above" selections on the ballot.

I would've loved to seen Richard Pryor post-humorously elected President.  (See "Brewster's Millions")

Figure Fan

I voted! :)

My first presidential vote, since I'm only 20 years old. I've been waiting for this chance for a LONG time.
