I figured posting about this would be appropriate since Freeman has become such a noteworthy actor these days..

QuoteMorgan Freeman, star of this summer's Wanted and The Dark Knight, is listed in serious condition after an automobile accident late Sunday night in Mississippi.

According to the Associated Press, Freeman, 71, is at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn., about 90 miles north of the accident scene in rural Tallahatchie County in the Mississippi Delta.

Freeman's car apparently was airborne before landing in a ditch. The
jaws of life were used to extract him from his vehicle.

According to the report, Freeman was conscious and lucid, even joking with rescue workers.

Freeman reprised his role of Lucius Fox in The Dark Knight. He played Sloan in Wanted.

I'm constantly impressed by Morgan Freeman's ability to put all of his considerable acting talent into any role he plays, in any movie, regardless of said movie's quality. In my opinion, he always manages to elevate the quality of any movie he's in, from pieces of junk to already-great films.

I wish him a speedy and complete recovery.

I'm hearing it may have been a case of trying to drive when you're too tired and falling asleep at the wheel.  Luckly he and his passenger had their belts on.    I too hope for a speedy recovery.

Geez--

I couldn't believe this. I'm glad he was conscious when they took him to the hospital. Freeman has been one of my favorite actors. I hope him and his passenger recover.

Prayers for a speedy recovery.  Freeman has been one of my favorite actors for nearly 30 years.

I was thinking about re-watching my Superman: Doomsday DVD tonight, but maybe I'll re-watch The Shawshank Redemption instead.

I'm glad he's in good spirits and I hope the broken bones heal quickly as well. He is a great actor and, not really ever having seen him off-screen, I gained more respect for him after his 60 Minutes interview.
