Each month, thousands of players are denied the chance to live a normal life. Characters are prevented from reaching 50, slots are filled on all servers, and time which should be spent playing is wasted away for hours in character creation.

If you or anyone you know suffers from these symptoms, the National Alt-itis Foundation is here to help.

Alt-itis is a terrible disease, striking untold numbers of players. There is hope, however. While the disease itself may not be curable, at the National Alt-itis Foundation, we are dedicated to finding ways to allow Altaholics to live normal gaming lives.

Much progress has recentaly been made. Super groups are now available on every server to give rarely-used alts a home. Additional character slots will shortly be made available. And, just recently, an individual with an unusually severe case of alt-itis achieved his first level 50 villain, and second level 50 in the game. after having played for four solid years.

"Hi. Crazy Kate here, speaking on behalf of the National Alt-itis Foundation. Many of you know me as a successful and dangerous villain, but I would never have made it to the top without help from the NAF, and from generous doners such as Ephemeris, Zapow, Viking, Direwolf, Verfall, Train Wreck, Middy, El Condor, MJB, Mikey, Tortuga, BAD, Prelate, Camma, Pyre, Top, Gday, and countless others who have dedicated their valuable time and assistance to fighitng this disease. Remember, while we can't cure Alt-itis, with your help, we can beat it. And you know me, I really enjoy beating things... and people... and stuff..."

The National Alt-itis Foundation is a not for profit* oraganization. We are always happy to recieve donations. Send all donations of infamy, recipes, salvage, enhancements, etc., to Crazy Kate.

*Mostly because Crazy Kate keeps taking all the profit we make.

BlueBard

"Hi, I'm BlueBard and I'm an altaholic.  I level up my alts to level 6 or so, then delete them so I can make more.  I have alts on servers nobody else ever plays on.  It takes me ten minutes just to decide which alt to play."

{hangs his head}

"I have been playing 27 months+ total now (having quit for a year to go play WoW then I came to my senses and returned), and am probably close to getting the next veteran reward, and I only have 1 50 with all my Freedom slots being full at the moment. My closest alt to 50 is my 44 PB, and my highest lvl villain is a 36 MM. And I have about 5 or 6 alts on Virtue, none of whom are higher than lvl 9. Most of my Freedom alts are in their 20s, except for my Kheldians."

I've spent more time in character creation then I have in actual gameplay. And by the time I hit 10, some minor quibble about my character warrants a remake or a tailor session.

I have 7 Fiddies, and a plan for the 8th and 9th firmly in place.

What?

Camma

My name is JC, and Im an altoholic.

Im definetly guilty of this.  I have alts spread over almost every level range.  I have been playing since 1 month after the game was released and have 2 heroes and 1 villain at 50 (and one of the heroes was carried by a weekly team).

If it wasn't for the people with NAF, i don't know where'd i'd be today.

Viking

*stabs MJB*

What?  He keeps killing my graphics card and stealing my drops.  He had it coming!

But yeah, I'm an alt-aholic as well.  Just on a relatively smaller scale.  I like beating on things, too.
