Hi, I new. Got  :ffvstr: a few days ago and I'm loving it so far , but I was curious about online play. When I try to play online there is no one on. What really gets me though is that there are tons of people still playing and making stuff for the game. Do I need to download something to be able to play online or does everyone just stick to solo campaign?

I have never played online because I enjoy the single-player campaign mods and expansion packs more. My impression is that there weren't too many people who did, but there were some. I think there was a thread here a few weeks back of people looking to set up online matches. If you click the search link and search for multiplayer in the FF forums, I think you will run across some more discussion of this. Of course, there are some folks who are down on the multiplayer game, but ignore them and just keep in mind that you only need one other person who wants to play...

I see. thank you. I was thining that  :ffvstr: was like Neverwinter nights. Filled with online mods and stuff. Oh well, I ran a search on mods and was interested in the matrix mod, but when I click to "save as" it takes a crapload of tie and when it finaly finidhes all I have is an internet explorer icon that sends me to the page filled with giburish just as if I would've clicked the "Download" button.

Any other recomandations for good mods?

Strange.  I don't know of anyone else who has that problem with it.

Anyway, check out the wiki for a list of more mods.

I used to get pages like that from time to time when i actually still used IE.
What you can try if that happens is once the page of gibberish loads, save the page to your desktop, then rename the extension from .html to .rar. Technically that gibberish is the content of the rar file (if it fully loaded) and it should work still... at least it has in my case before.

I'd suggest the comprehensive list of mods over the wiki right now...unless the wiki has been updated recently.

Yes, if you find people who are down on the multiplayer game somewhere, please ignore them...though I don't recall anyone being down on it. *shrugs*

I downloaded it again, added ".rar" at the end and made it to open with winrar and it worked! Thank you much or the tip.
