Glitch Girl

ReBoot to be made into 3 feature length films

Good news, it's the same studio doing the work, just renamed from "Mainframe" to "Rainmaker".

The rest, I'm not sure.  Too early to tell.

BentonGrey

I loved the show, and if they've got the same studio doing it, it could be great fun.

New Reboot? NEW REBOOT!!! YAY!

Oh please let them finish the cliffhanger from My Two Bobs

MJB

Never watched ReBoot, neither have my kids. I hope they make the movies noob friendly.

Well one downside is they won't be able to get teh original voice for Megabyte if they want to use him again.

RIP Tony Jay, you had a great voice.

Pyroclasm

I never watched Reboot, but loved MainFrame's Transformers: Beast Wars.
That Zeros 2 Heroes website they mentioned in the article seems promising.

I loved Reboot, especially the ones the more continuous storylines.  Never did see the movies that comprised the last season, though.

Great find GG! If there's one thing I've had years of looking forward to and not being dissapointed by, it's Reboot. The show that always took extra-long to put out another season and always found a way to somehow be MORE fun than before.

Yes, Megabyte without Tony Jay is like Darth Vader without James Earl Jones, Megatron without Frank Welker or David Keye (modern), ect. But I'm sure they'll manage to pull it off. I mean, I was able to stomach "Glitch Bob".

Silver Shocker

Here's the newest developments and it's definately not what I expected.

Basically they're asking for fans input on which of these concepts they should go with. Follow the link in the article to find a menu system with creator's ideas and concept sketches.

This is certainly the kind of thing everyone's gonna have an opinion about, so I guess I'll give my input on each concept:

1: Reboot Regenerated:
Concept: I don't really like this.
Character designs: A little too goofy for me. I don't think I like this. This would work for a completely differant series, but if they did this and called it "Reboot" I think I'd be quite depressed.

2: Arrival:

Concept: Not bad. I like this idea to a degree. One thing that sometimes bothered me about Reboot was that it was always vocalized around Mainframe and for a long time fans didn't even have any way to know what the other systems looked like, let alone what the supercomputer looked like beyond the spires we sometimes saw. Infact until season three one wouldn't even know what the various virus' would look like either. I like this concept because it seems to use the universe of Reboot better as a "bigger picture". A bit of a problem with Damon Rising is with all the Guardians out of commision, it really was as always up to Bob and co to save the day.

Design: I like the idea of Codemaster Lens being in it, I liked him, but the redesign is far too differant. I do like his counterpart, Ether. The Dot design is a good design but not for her, and I actually think the Bob design is cool, even if it looks a little too anime.

3: Reboot 2.0

Concept: It sounds interesting. It could lead to philosocial exploration.
Designs: The creators for this concept should be tortured simply for thier Bob designs.

On the other hand, I think the Dot and Enzo designs are really neat, I just don't think they're right for the characters (well, Dot at least). They'd be great for new characters.

4: The Last Guardian

Concept: If we have to have one of these, this IS the one. It's the most like a continuation to "My Two Bobs" and it doesn't even sound horrible. It has the most "Reboot" feel to it, and I could enjoy it if they made it. I think there are far too many "plucky teen heroes" in fiction these days, but whatever.

Designs: Bob's a mess. The Dot design isn't horrible (well, the "Preistess" looking one isn't). And the "Bit" design is ok. The two I really liked though are Mike the TV and Megabyte. Mike looks "right" (few of these designs do), and I'm actually kinda fond of that Megabyte. The creators say their take on him is Jeremy Irons (Die Hard 2 villain) as Megabyte, but I'm firmly reminded of Ra's Al Ghul. This got me thinkin: David Warner could be a kickass Megabyte.  And hey, somebody's gotta replace Tony Jay, so it might as well be someone who's really good at playing villains.

5: The Last User
Concept: Interesting idea, but I'd rather something more true to the original.
Designs: Two words: Creative abortion.

Okay, that's my piece. I'ma stand back now and see what everyone's reactions to these bizarre new ideas are.

I don't really like any of these, although The Last Guardian I might reluctantly watch.  There are two huge problems here.

1.  Everyone seems to either seems to want a drastically changed, different Reboot time and world.  Why can't they just tell a good story in the current world, introducing any changes as they come naturally?

2.  No one seems to get the concept of time in the Reboot universe.  A "Nano" or nano second is equivilant to a second in their time.  The sprite live out their existences in seconds or minutes of our time.  In 21whatever, none of the classic characters would be around.  That would be the equivilant of many thousands of years.

BentonGrey

I'm with you Cat, I'd much prefer for them just to pick it back up, but seeing as they will want to bring in a new audience...that's probably not a great idea.

Blkcasanova247

Don't they all just seem to be "dark" and "heavy"...reboot was a "fun" story. Don't try to reinvent the wheel....they'll just end up ruining the property.

Silver Shocker

Yeah, guys I think everyone wants the original back, the show was fun, even as it got darker it never stopped being fun, or it went back to being fun after a while.  But dispite the new creators interest in fans involvement, fans having a say, the real truth is it may very well be that or nothing. If they do choose one of these formats, depending on certain factors (whether the old voices come back, who's involved in writing episodes, ect), I'd willing to give it a chance in case it turns out to actually be good.

Oh snap, I remember this show. I was a kid when I watched it, and don't really remember anything... I should definately think about trying to watch this show before any of the movies come out.

style

Yeah of course GLITCH! girl would like a show called Reboot! <_<

thalaw2

Reboot was one of my favorite morning cartoons.  This is great news!
