hi i was just wondering if there was a way to skope/hex a part of a mmultiple part of a mesh... i'm talking about meshes with parts that when you click them at nifskope, they correspond to a different part as well... like when i click a jacket of a mesh, the gloves and the boots also are highlighted... so that means that those parts are one... so how do i hex or skope this that only the jacket will remain and i can hide the boots and the gloves...

I Think the best way is to alpha enable them. That way if all you want is a jacket, just clear the area where the boots are skinned

Kaede

and how do i exactly do that alpha thing? hehehe... can you enlighten me pls...

vamp

I'll tell you as soon as I remember how. Maybe someone else can help with the details. If not, I'll mess around in nifskope until I remember

Kaede

ok thanks dude... just let me know if you got it ok... thanks...

Assuming you're using Nifskope...

right click on NiTriShape > node > attach property > niAlphaProperty

right click on the new niAlphaProperty, and click flags

everything should be as follows:

Enable Blending - Checked

Source Blend Mode - Src Alpha

Destination Blend Mode - Inv Src Alpha

Enable Testing - Checked

Alpha Test Function - Greater

Alpha Test Threshold - (doesn't matter, White Knight uses 125 though, and as a result so do I :P)

Sort Triangles - Unchecked

Found this while wandering the site. It works perfectly with me

ok thanks dude... i'll try this one out...

Edit: uhmmm... i've tried this one out... and successfully followed everything... but what do you mean by clearing the area where the boots and gloves where skinned? do you mean i should color them black like the background or something else? coz it doesn't seem to work for me...

if youre using photoshop,  make sure there are no background layers,  or that if there is one layer, that is locked,  duplicate it, then delete the locked layer.   then,  just use the eraser and erase everything you want alpha'd out.   when youre finished,  there should be a transparent checkerboard patter nunderneath.  that means you've cleared it,  and thus, is invisible in terms of alphas.
save the tga as 32-bit.

alrights... i'm gonna try this one out... thanks DM...

Edit: uhmmm... i tried it, but when i save it, it was ok... but when i open it up again... the checkboard vanishes and turns into white again... is this normal? coz it can't seem to do the job... sorry for my being ignorance... coz it's my first time with this alpha stuff

Edit2: uhmmm... maybe if you guys aren't too bc... could i ask you a favor of doing it for me... but if not, it's still ok... it's just because i just can't seem to get the hang of it...  :(
maybe i could send you the file and alpha it out... and send it back to me... if it's not too much though...
