Hey there everyone,
I am, stuck and am needing a bit of help. I am doing a hex of Goldface for BentonGray and am having a problem. I added on a couple of jet packs on his back. But when he moves they don't stay in the proper position. I've read a thread where Pod was having the same problem. But I guess I need the process of how to fix it broke down a little more. I've attached it to a bone and I must be doing some thing very wrong. When I attach it it is floating way off somewhere far from the body. I've tried deleating the ninodeskininstance with no posative results. All in all I am sure I its just me not doing it corectly to fix the problem. If someone could help me by a more detailed description (something a total novice could get) or perhaps someone has the tutorials that use to be up on this site? I would appreciate the help. I also included an illustration of the problem below.
Thanks in advance

looks like the jetpacks are coming from a tom_versatile mesh too?  ok.
1.open up your goldface hex in one window, the mesh with the rocket packs in another.
2.in the rocket pack mesh, click on the rocket pack, and resize under the editable_mesh > transform, if need be.
3.open up the editable_mesh branch, remove branch on NiSkinInstance
4.  it will probably float off somewhere, right click on the name of the mesh piece (above editable_mesh) and copy branch
5. go to goldface hex, depending on where you want them placed, i would either chose the spine node or the clavicle nodes, right for the right rocketpack, left for the left one.
6. right click on the desired node, paste branch. the piece will probably be far off somewhere, but there will be a yellow line coming from where the node is to where the mesh piece is.
7. transform the editable mesh.   i usually set the x, y, z coordinate to all zeroes first and reposition from there.  remember to apply the transformation changes. please try to resize the piece while in the original mesh, cuts down a lot of hassle.

that should work.

Well this has nothing to do with goldface (looks great by the way), but the subject is right on.  i am trying to move challenger's goggles (from Gren) to XCJ_lowerhair (by ink) using nifscope of course. When I try to paste branch with the goggles it says this:

Quotenif versions differ!
Current file version 4.0.0.2
Clipboard data version 10.1.0.0

The results will be unpredictable

when I press continue the whole XCJ_lowerhair mesh disappears.

I remember this happening to me a while back, and I think it had to do with mesh conversion.  I belive both meshes have to be converted (or both 'not' converted) for you to 'skope geometries from one mesh to another.

...I think...
