So, about a gajillion years since I started doing this FF stuff, I'm finally at the point where I'm struggling to find a few things. (I'm at just shy of 1500 skins, so I've been probably a teensy weensy bit overzealous in this)


I've scoured websites both existing and through the wayback machine, I've poured over the skin megalist and the master mesh lists, and I've done some decent searches on this site, so actually asking is now my final resort for these.

Most of these requests come about from a number of hero files I've downloaded, which have pointed me to skins that I'm assuming have existed at some point, but I've failed to track them down. Not sure who created the herofiles (I basically downloaded them all and dumped them into a single folder), but that's this first section.

Abra Kadabra - skin goes on male_basic_collar69 mesh
Agatha Harkness - skin goes on generic_heroine_dress mesh
Blonde Phantom - skin goes on generic_heroine_dress mesh
Captain Metropolis - hero file has the mesh as Captain Metropolis, so not much help there.
Captain Wonder - skin goes on malefin_basic69 mesh
Egghead - skin to goes male_basic_bighead mesh
Erik the Red - TM_erik_the_red mesh, but no idea who created it.
Gin Genie - skin goes on female_straighthair mesh
Godiva - skin goes on Medusa mesh
Lacuna - skin goes on female_basic mesh
Lady Quark - skin goes on female_basic mesh
Lady Rawhide - skin goes on female_longhair mesh
Moonglow - skin goes on female_basic_cape
Olympian - Olympain_tvlite mesh (which I assume is Tommyboy, but I could never find it)
Peggy Carter - skin goes on task_mistress_basic_pistol_dagger(Red) mesh. Could do with the mesh too.
Pinball - skin goes on a Blob mesh (not sure which one)
Quagmire - skin goes on maleBmohawk_basic69. Need the mesh too.
Rogue Trooper - skin goes on the solider mesh
Saint Anna - skin goes on the female_straighthair mesh
Scarlet Centurion - skin goes on the male_basic_cape_ph_gloves mesh
Spike (from X-Statix) - skin goes on the male_basic mesh
Spoiler - skin goes on the r_nld mesh
Thermite (from Squadron Supreme) - skin goes on a specific Thermite mesh, but no idea who created it.
Ultra-Humanite, the Delores Winters version - skin goes on the generic_heroine_dress.
Vagabond - skin goes on the Storm_Hex_Captain_UK mesh
Young Nastyman - skin goes on the male_basic_teen_tall mesh. I think this one was done by Daglob.



This next one is skins or meshes that I know exist, but are on sites that are no longer available, mostly Yahoo groups (you turn your back for a year or so, and everything goes kablooey)

I've got an annoying memory that LP also did Goldstar at some point too, if anyone has that.
I also know (via the Megalist) that jkcarrier had a decent number of Legion skins, but I'm especially interested in his Duo Damsel and Element Lad.

Next are just a couple of questions on NifConvert and a couple of meshes that are proving stubborn to convert. Has anyone managed to convert KennX's Kristen Wells Superwoman or his 50s or 80s Catwoman. Kristen Wells just plainly refuses to convert at all, and the Catwoman meshes convert, but the dress gets all screwed up. Anyone else had any luck?


Finally some requests for skins that I have no idea even exist, but, y'know, whilst I'm asking...

I probably have most of these (but I've never seen q Peggy carter). However, I am presently really sick, so it will take awhile to get to any of them. Pick the 10 or so you want most, list them, and I'll try to get them for you in a day or tow.

Mate, I've been doing this on and off for about a decade, so I'm really not in a rush about any of these, certainly not to the point where I'd want anyone to think about providing me with stuff when they're sick. I've been doing this for years, another few months isn't going to bother me at all.

So get yourself better, and send over whatever you can whenever you feel able too. I don't want anyone to feel pressured into anything here.

To be honest, none of these are critical, its more a case (especially with most of them), I'd seen that the hero file existed, and wondered what the skin looked like. You know the collector mentality, when you can't find something, you covet it even more.

So whether you have them all, or just a handful, I'll take whatever's on offer, whenever you feel ok to send it. Let me know if you need an email address.

I was able to find 4 meshes from the Yahoo Group file dump (3 of which I actually already had, but it was just easier to pull them from here).

male_dwarf (this is how it was as listed in the Group; it's possible male_basic_dwarf may have been a typo in some documentation or was an early working title for this mesh)

Unfortunately, I wasn't a member of Bearded's 3rd group, so I couldn't check that.

I went through all of JKC's groups that I had, and the only LSH-related skins/hexes I could find were Esper Lass, Saturn Queen, & Spider-Girl.  Sadly, two of his groups (the first & #7) had 0 files in them.  This was a problem that quite a few of the unmonitored groups had towards the end.  All of Tommy's groups that I had were like that, as well as FreedomForceMeshes6.

I think that's all I got for now.  None of the rest are ones that I had gotten for myself, but if you can help narrow down the creators for some of them, they might have been a Yahoo Group somewhere.

This should work for the first batch. I have some explanations, but haven't finished yet.

Note on nomenclature: I re-name some stuff to get it to display in the file list like I want it to, thus a kind of repetitious name like Female Heroine, or making Male Ultra from Ultra Male.
Also, if someone requests a mesh, I usually include keyframes and any other skins for the mesh.

Peggy Carter - skin goes on task_mistress_basic_pistol_dagger(Red) mesh. Could do with the mesh too. What I think happened here was that when I got the skin, I didn't have the mesh listed (and lacked the skills to make my own), so I put the skin on this similar mesh and just never changed it. I have a Sharon Carter also, and if I had access to all my tools, we might have a Lynda Carter, Agent of SHIELD too...

I was experimenting with his mesh awhile back; if his doesn't work, let me know and I'll see if I can track down the original.

Captain Metropolis - hero file has the mesh as Captain Metropolis, so not much help there.

I have these on both Female Basic and Female Basic fx. My personal naming convention the "fx" means it has particle emiters and some kind of "fire/energy" effect. Years ago I swapped the original meshes for the "effects" versions that had Reflection and Glow turned on. Confusing? Probably.

Moonglow - skin goes on female_basic_cape-but here is an alternate on a caped
Amazon mesh.
Pinball - skin goes on a Blob mesh (not sure which one) It seems to be the one by The Beyonder.

I got this mesh from Podmark's Crimson Cowl, but I've no idea whether it was a creation of Pod's or whether it was just used for his CC.

If it's FFvtTR, go into your data folder. You should see an "art.ff" file. You can open that with 7-zip. Once open, you should be able to find all of the built-in meshes and extract them like any other zip file.

Guys, you are doing the Lord's work here.

I'm working through the stuff you fine people have been sending me and have posted, so I'll get to striking out items in my original post soon. (I'm breaking in a new birthday laptop right now, which, of course, I'm using to play a 20 year old game.....ahh, who am I kidding, playing a 20 year old game is modern compared to most of the games I play)

Quick musing on the Blonde Phantom skin you posted Daglob, its a bit of a weird one, because it looks like its been based around the Tricolor mesh. However, when I think of the Blonde Phantom, I'm thinking about the lass in the red dress.
It's entirely possible that no skin of this character exists, but the hero file I have, has a Blonde Phantom skin going on the generic_heroine_dress mesh, which sounds more in keeping with the character I'm thinking of. It's also entirely possible that its a skin thats been lost to the mists of time.

Either way, thanks for all your hard work.

I've updated my initial post for the item's I've worked through so far. I know other people have sent me stuff, so I'll try on get on those tonight.

Thanks for the medusa mesh Daglob, and I got a couple of extra characters off the skins you included, but it didn't include the Godiva skin (her from Global Guardians fame), so if anyone has that skin, that'd be great.

One issue though, Character Tool bugs out whenever I try to view the mesh (which is a good indicator that the nif needs converting), but it doesn't seem to want to convert with NIF convert, and when I try the same in EZHero v4, the mesh doesn't show up at all.

Anyone had any luck converting this mesh?

I haven't tried converting it. I'll give it a look, but may be toward the weekend before I get a chance.
