Private Armies amd Summoner

I had a quick question.  I was wondering what specifically was needed to make these attributes work.  I have a number of characters I want to use this for but upon trying it didn't work as I thought it would.  I do remember doing it before when I had the original game on my old system but I'm not sure what I did to get it to work.

Is there something specific I need to do in FFXEdit?  If so, what percisely is it I need to do? 

Any help would be appreciated.

Just go the the FFX Control center and edit the minions that you can spawn/bring with you. I have a Villain that can control the Elements and so I made him summon Fire, Ice, and Earth Minions (Fire Elemental, Snow Man, ffx boulderman respectively). I also have a crime lord that has a bunch of thugs and gangsters that follow him everywhere.
