Looking to replay the original FF after many years, any solid mods to recommend?

Many links are gone now. I was always a big fan, but haven't played in a few years. I'm after a bit of a nostalgia hit, but some good graphics and gameplay mods would be welcome, as well as any nice campaign addons.

I was looking for FFX 2.6, but it seems to have disappeared.

Never done it myself - you could give it a try for a mission or two and see how it goes

Might give it a go, although FF seems to be working now with the ffx mod. Are there any other fun vanilla+ style mods you like?

Not really vanilla, but Benton's got some really good mods for FFvt3R - DC Adventures, Marvel Adventures, Ghostbusters, Pulp Adventures, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Hey and welcome. As others have suggested Benton's mods are massive and they cover a big part of pop culture. I'm obviously biased cause i'm one of the contributors but i uploaded the latest early release 2.7 version of Marvel Adventures, you can check it out if you want!
