Back in the early 2000's when the X-Men/ Spider-man movies and the MCU was just starting out, A company called "Git Corp" worked with Marvel to put out CD/ DVD collections of the original comics in pdf format, with every page scanned.

These were great as you got every issue, including the annuals but unfortunately not the Giant Sizes to read. At about $50 USD each it worked out to about 10c USD for each issue.

Every time a new movie came out, a new collection came out with it, until Marvel pulled the plug and set up their web site where they wanted you to pay every month to read their comics.

Well, it looks Git is back with updated collections. Price has gone up from $50 USD to $80 USD, but they've updated the collections to add 20 more years so the price for each issue is still about the same.

They've also gone from DVD to a USB drive that should be easy to connect with.

The bad news is the files are encrypted and you have to download an app, "Lock Lizard", and activate it to read the comics. The website has changed in the last few days where that wasn't mentioned before, just that the files were encrypted and would only work on up to 3 different computers. If you deactivate it on a device, you get a use back. GIT states that Marvel (now owned by Disney) would only authorize the collections if DRM came with it due to their fear of pirating.

Once again, Disney sucks.

The boxes look like updated ones from the previous version. This time, so far they've released Amazing Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, and "More on the way"

The new collections are also from the "Marvel Legacy collection", so they've been cleaned up but they're no longer cover to cover - no more ads and such.

For me, I've already got the ones I wanted before and I don't need the newer issues from the last 20 years. Plus, mine are pdfs that don't need an app to read so I'm good. Maybe if they come out with new collections that they missed before like Thor, Conan or Daredevil.

For anyone else who wants a quick, easy, complete collection of classic to new comics, go check them out at their website.

I rarely read comics online; I love them in print. Thanks for the info..but I'? In Stanlee's school.

These aren't online but they are digital. You buy the USB drive, attach it to your computer, tablet or phone, and read them even if there's no internet.

I prefer real comics as well, but they can be expensive and take up a lot of space. If you bought the 5 USB drives offered by them right now you would have almost 4000 Marvel comics available.

I read mine, which are the older pdf versions or cbr/cbz files,  on a cheap 10 inch tablet. My eyes are also not as they were when I was younger, so I can go to landscape mode or zoom in as needed.

Ah, so many ways to read.
I admit to a preference for real comics but, as mentioned, it can be difficult to buy/store/or even find some comics.

I don't know if I'm allowed to say but I definitely have accessed some... alternatively-legal ways of reading comics. Though I hear the US is now blocking access to the places I look.
Luckily I am not US based!

Anyhow, that's cool that you are finding something that works for you!

I have also used alternate ways and have sailed the high seas at times.

These collections are great, but DC won't probably ever jump on board.

At present, I've collected everything I wanted from my favorite Silver and Bronze ages and have enough to keep me happy for many years

I posted this more for others to check out than myself.

What I can think of is that if you read any comics online, you can take screenshots of any missing characters you want, and I'll gladly make the models exactly as they appear on the pages.
