Apologies about not being able to pull the Hot Toys version for the show to get consistency, there is one coming but it's only been previewed and I didn't want to post just the head, so yall get the weird ML render for now.

I'll save my own full thoughts on this for a follow up post, but it's been a while since I did the last one, and there was a really solid contender in the Hawkeye show costume (plus, I feel the Ronin costume warrants discussion, as it is basically ripped straight from the comics). It's also still the biggest sore spot on my MCU shelf.

So... Hawkeye. The Bane of my MCU Collection. Where I feel most other characters eventually got close enough (Even Falcon got the outfit from F&WS which FINALLY added the white in there) Hawkeye is one that just never felt... RIGHT to me, y'know? Don't get me wrong, the Hawkeye show went out of its way to redeem Hawkeye as a character, and his costume is basically ripped right out of the Matt Fraction Hawkeye run... let's be honest, the costume they're ripping is, in turn, based on the movies.

Now, I'm not saying I want a full on classic comic Hawkeye in the MCU as things stand now. I don't think this version of Hawkeye, as established, would run around with flared boots and the loincloth skirt thing. And I actually really like the shade of Purple used in the show outfit and think the design works well.

I just don't like the open face. It's not that I absolutely need Hawkeye in his full cowl, but even the Hawkeye designs that don't have a cowl (including the full outfit from Fraction's run, even if he doesn't wear them most of the time) have some sort of goggles/sunglasses. A set of high tech looking sunglasses with purple lenses that approximate the flared shape of Hawkeye's mask with the TV show costume (Or even a version of his other costumes with that shade of purple) would be ideal for me.

So yeah, higher budget Hawkeye show costume + Avengers 1 goggles would be ideal for me. As things stand, I still display my OG Avengers 1 Hawkeye for that reason, even if I wish the purple was less Magenta. The Hawkeye show costume is objectively better, but I don't love his head being open.

I think I mostly agree with you here. The show costume with goggles would be a more 'iconic' look, even though they don't quite catch the cowled look of comic Hawkeye. I'm honestly not sure how the cowl could be pulled off MCU style.

I wasn't a fan of the Ultron or Civil War looks. I thought the Ronin costume was well done.

Overall, I would say your plan for Show costume plus some high-tech goggles would be spot on.

Just my two cents.

Agreed.  I think the Civil War costume feels most comic-ish (other than, as you say, the comic one based on the movies).  It's one of my few real disappointments with the Infinity Saga that we never got Hawkeye in his mask.  He's got a good costume, but despite the fact that basically everyone else got to have theirs, he never got his.
