Just PM'd you. I found your Lightning Boy in Tommyboy's Legion mod. Let me know if you need it.

Edit - found your Cosmic Boy there too. No luck on Saturn Girl so far.

I only got one comic they did as guests, it looks great!

I've always liked that scene and you've pulled it off amazingly. I'm really enjoying these dioramas.

Thanks guys.

For such a simple looking scene it gave me some trouble. I think it's a truly iconic comic cover/ scene, introducing the Legion.

I just wish I had the talent, the time, the money and the room to print these out into the real world. With most STls for 3d print, they're so high poly that the mesh does all the work. For us, we rely more on the skin to get the character across.

Like I said when I started, I wanted a little more for the characters than just having them Rumble, and making mods like Benton is beyond me.

Updated with Wyldefyre's Lightning Boy skin. Reuploaded.

Wyldfyre - As I mentioned to Benton a few years back, in some cases the only source for some meshes/ skins might be mods, now that the yahoo groups and so many sites are gone.

Legion of Superheroes Diorama - The Return of Lightning Lad.

Adventure comics #312

In a previous story, Lightning Lad died in battle to protect another Legionaire from dying. At one point, it was thought he had been revived, but it was really his twin sister taking his place trying to keep his memory alive.

In the end, the only way to restore him was for another Legionaire to sacrifice their life in turn, channeling lightning through their body and dying doing so.

It worked, but who was the one who died? Read the story and find out!

This one was going great until Lightning Lass. There was only one skin I found to match the picture, and the mesh with it wouldn't import into blender. Tommyboy's TV meshes also give blender a hard time since there's so many hidden parts in it. It took a few hours to her into the diorama

Lightning Lad - mesh and skin by JJ. Minor kitbash to close his eyes

Superboy - Mesh by Vertex. Skin by C6

Saturn Girl - mesh is female_hair_A. skin by Dark Jared of Skindex

Chameleon Boy - mesh is Chameleon Boy 2 by Tommyboy. Skin by El Insensatez

Lightning Lass - mesh is female_shorthair. Skin by El Insensatez

Sun Boy - Mesh and skin by Toxic J.

Mon El - mesh is male_cape_nobelt. Skin by C6

I haven't been able to read that comic; I only came across a comic with the Legion characters. I'll look for it online. It looks really well done!

These are so much fun.  The Lightning Lad one is great!

My first movie Diorama

"One Million Years BC" tells the story of two tribes that lived in a fictional era where men and dinosaurs lived at the same time.

Tumak, one of two sons of the chief of the dark haired Rock tribe, is exiled by his father. He makes his way to the coast and meets the blonde haired, more advanced Shell tribe. He and a girl of the tribe, Loana, fall in love and become a couple. After many dinosaur attacks and acts of nature, the two tribes unite in the end for a happy ending.

The standout of the movie is the actress Rachel Welch who played Loana. One of the most beautiful actresses of the 60's, A poster of her from the movie sold lots of copies, and probably one of the most iconic scenes is when a pterodactyl grabs her and flies off with her to its nest to feed its young.

I think the new rock texture and backdrop does a good job of matching the movie scene. I tried to match her pose as close as possible as well.

If you haven't seen it, you need to for some classic movie goodness.

Loana by Cranlox. Adjusted the face a bit - it was flat in profile - pulled out the nose and bridge between the eyes. Comes with a spear. I put up a closeup pic to show what a good job he did with the capture.

Pterodactyl from a previous import. Rock from Freedom Force.
