Jonny Quest - probably my favorite classic cartoon ever. Besides the great stories and extra detail in the animation for what was a prime-time series, it has one of the best theme songs ever.

Of all the episodes, "Monster in the Monastery" is one of my top five. Steve Rude did an alternate cover for DC's "Future Quest" comic and I used that as my base.

I couldn't get the narrow cliff path in, but everything else came pretty close to the artwork.

Along with the Thor DD, probably one of my favorite dioramas so far.

Jonny and Hadji - Heads were created in the Sims2 CAS with some editing in Blender afterwards. Bodies were done in the Sims3 CAS.

The yetis were done for me by Dean on a male_heavy mesh.

The flashlight, jeep and boulder are from the Models Resource site.

The rope bridge is from the Sketchfab site.

The icy rocks are from the "Zoo Tycoon" game

Hopefully these dioramas are bringing some good memories to others as well.

One of my favorite Abbott and Costello movies as well. Your wolfman skin was perfect for it.

Oh, thank you.

Popeye meets Sindbad

Fleischer Studios had Popeye in the beginning and they decided to go all out in 1936. Popeye meets Sindbad was twice as long as a standard cartoon, in full color, and highlighted a new scrolling background that they were working on getting copyrighted.

It starts out as the mighty Sindbad (Bluto, of course) singing about how great he is on his island of monsters. Seeing Popeye and crew on a ship, he orders a Roc to sink the ship and bring him Olive back. On reaching the island, Popeye confronts Sindbad and his monsters while Wimpy spends most of th story chasing after a duck with a might grinder, I guess to make duck burgers with.

The story ends with your standard can of spinach saving the day and after the final battle, all the monsters cheer for Popeye.

I think this is another one that appeared better in my head than it came out in the end.

I don't know how many of us can say this, but... "I was waiting for it!" hahaha
Ever since you mentioned you had it in mind and needed some things, I imagined something similar to this digital diorama. Great work!

I don't know, I like it! I might suggest moving the models a bit closer together to more mimic the way they appear in animation, but otherwise Huzzah!!

Cool work, RD! I'm curious about the Jonny Quest bridge... How usable would it be in game situation?

Its a textured mesh. I converted it from its source to an obj file to use in the diorama, but it could be exported out as a nif. The spaces between the boards are actual spaces, not the texture with alpha applied.

To be usable in game, I think all I would have to do is add a form fitting collision box so you could walk on it. You would still have the standard game problem of either walking on it or under it, but not both

Who is the world's greatest superhero?

Is it... Superman?    Nope

Is it... Spiderman?  Nope

Is it... Sarge?  Nope

Is it... Rosemary the telephone operator? Nope

Is it... Penry the mild mannered janitor?  Could be!

Hong Kong Phoeey, number one super guy!

Hong Kong Phooey, faster than the human eye!

For a simple diorama, this took a lot more time to do than I though it would, mainly due to making the Phooey Mobile and Spot from stls - lowering the polycount, chopping them up into pieces and skinning them. The Phooey Mobile didn't need to be rigged, and Honk Kong Phooey and Spot were easy to rig.

Oh man! I loved that show as a kid. Number one super guy indeed!

Calvin and Hobbes

Calvin and Hobbes was a newspaper comic strip that ran from 1985 to 1995 - ten years of greatness. Many still call it the greatest comic strip ever written, including me.

Its a bout a little boy, Calvin, and his stuffed tiger, Hobbes. For anyone but Calvin, Hobbes is nothing more than a stuffed animal, but for Calvin, he comes to life and is the best friend any little boy could have.

After so much work and time spent on Hong Kong Phooey, Calvin went very quickly, especially since I had made all the resources back in 2013 for my first Christ Pack.

I went ahead and did three Christmas/ Winter dioramas based on the strip;

1) Calvin and Hobbes napping in front of the fireplace with a Christmas tree on the insed and a cold snowy day on the outside.

2) Calvin and Hobbes in a snowy forest hiding from the deranged mutant killer snow goons

3) Calvin and Hobbes going sledding in their final strip

These are all based on previous work, with thanks going to FF modder vorelliwiseau whom was major help for them back then

I like all three of these and think they came out looking pretty good. Uploaded to the diorama folder

Oops - wrong Calvin in the final scene - he should have a cap

Corrected and re-uploaded

It's so sweet! I love how you presented the story. I've rarely had the chance to hold one of these in my hands, but I did have one until a few years ago; it must still be somewhere at home. Great work! It invites us to reconnect with what's purest. :)
