Awesome! That's a nice representation. You should be proud, very nice hammer effect.

Kudos to Dean for the Kronans!

Great effort all around. This is definitely an iconic cover.

This diorama is beautiful! Interesting work!

(By the way, is it possible to download the Kronans anywhere? One of my projects is to do various Marvel and DC alien races.)

Thanks.

It came together pretty well - the buildings are a bit different, and the male and female civilians from the game aren't a perfect match for the cover, but overall I think its a good representation.

I had been working on doing a Kronan a while back, and Dean stepped up, as he often does.

Should be available on Dean's site. Let him or me know if it isn't

DoctorRuina

I use Freedom Force only for combats, but I have sometimes thought about making comics using the game to represent combats between characters from different universes hehe

Randomdays

That would be fun. I had thought of doing a FF comic based on the same Thor as above, but it would be a lot of work.

With Blender, I can set each comic panel by posing the characters to match what I want. like the dioramas above, but it would get complicated setting up the different environments to match, like the buildings above.

A cartoon could be done as well for an issue or story using cutscenes, but that would be even more complicated - Benton could probably attest to that.

For me, I think the dioramas are the best way to go with my skills - doing one specific scene that represents an iconic moment form comic or tv/ movie history.

A cross company scene could be done of course, with the resources we have.

DoctorRuina

Yes, that would be very complicated, so we will leave it for later hehe. For the moment I like to watch battles between characters from different universes, although the AI sometimes doesn't work as I would like.

These are pretty cool, RD. Nice work.

I haven't posted in a while, but here's three that I've been working on, almost finished

1) In the 70's, the Brothers Hildebrandt were doing a lot of fantasy and SF paintings, including some great calandars featuring the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings. So here's a DD of their work from the Hobbit where Gandalf meets Bilbo for the first time.

The main mesh is from one found on sketchfab I think. Bilbo and Gandalf are from the models I imported earlier, and the rest are either from FF and FFvt3R or from game assets from the models resource site. I couldn't find some large Sunflowers or Bilbo's pipe to use.

Its hard to see with the character viewer, so the screenshots are from Blender.

2) From the thingiverse website, an stl model of the silver age spaceship that brought Kal-El to earth. It's almost identical to the one that brought Kara to earth in the first appearance of Supergirl from Action Comics #252, so I recolored that and used it there as well.

I don't think the Krypton exploding scene is from a specific cover, though Superman #300 is close. A side note on that is I know I have a skin for Jor-El, but has anybody ever done Lara?

Superman is Superman 1960 by Yellow Lantern, and Supergirl is by Atomic Robot - The closest I could find to her original appearance.

RD, great to see you posting, my friend!

These are delightful!  I really love the Hobbit one, but they're all really cool!

Thanks Benton.

For the Hobbit, I need to add a gate to the fence.

For Supergirl, I'm looking for a good static mesh to use for the smoke behind the rocket.

As an aside on the Supergirl Action cover, I thought that the rocket being smashed on impact was wrong, as it. like Kara inside, should have been invulnerable. There was a story where Superman lost all his powers and was shot, and presumed killed, but he was only knocked out by the impact. He was wearing his costume, which came from Krypton, and was still invulnerable with the suit acting as a bullet proof body cover. I'm assuming from that, that ANY material from Krypton, besides the poisonous Kryptonite, was invulnerable to damage.

In some of the newer stories, that might have changes as I've seen his costume ripped up a few times in some stories.

Randomdays

Added the gate and Bilbo's pipe to the Bag End DD.

Add the smoke behind the rocket to the Supergirl DD

All 3 finished and uploaded to the megasite.

The Superman Rocket from the Diorama is now on the megasite as a separate object in the Marvel/DC folder.

A new Diorama for the Yogi Bear show. Cranlox had done an excellent Ranger Smith and a Cindy Bear head.

I added a Yogi Bear and Boo Boo using the body from the Wii "Yogi Bear" game and some heads from stls from Reddadsteve on the thingiverse site. Cindy also uses the Yogi body as well.

Last main item is a modified park sign from FF.

Of all things, I couldn't find a good soda bottle to match the picture.

Yogi, Boo Boo, and Cindy posted as separate meshes in the "Classic Cartoons" folder.

cranlox

Amazingly cool! Soda's on its way!

Meet George Jetson!

Spent the day bringing in a stl of the Jetson's car into Blender, decimating the high poly count to something usable for FF, breaking it into pieces for skinning, adding in the Jetson characters, posing them to fit the car, and setting up the graphics for the diorama.

There's a few different versions of the car out there with different paint jobs, but I went with the one from the opening credits of the original show.

I think it came out very well and the only thing I think I want to change is to make Jane's hair color a bit more orange.

I still have to rig and set up Rosie and Astro, as well as any additional characters still to do. I have in mind at least one additional Jetson Diorama, if not two, depending on character resources.

Not ready for download yet, but almost.

cranlox

great work !  i really need this action figures! :D

The second Jetson Diorama is done. The first was the opening of the show, and the second from the close.

It took a long time to process it out to a nif due to high poly count of the total characters in the scene - mainly Rosie, who was a hefty 60k alone.

Corrected Jane's hair to the more orange color in the main nif, as well as the two dioramas.

Created the pneumatic tube and Astro's collar from some primitive cylinders.

Adjusted the height of the backdrop down as it was stretching it to appear larger than it should be.

George's chair is from my import Star Trek TOS map, the slippers are enlarged/ recolored from Judy's feet, and the pipe is from the models resource.

I'd like to do one more for the Jetsons in George's office - but I would like to have Mr Spacely and Uniblab, which I have stls of, and Mr Cogswell and Henry, which I don't have.

Uploading the dioramas and a pack of 7 Jetson characters to the Diorama and the classic cartoons folders.

I also found a bottle a should be able to use for Yogi, as well as a sandwich to get the Diorama closer to the picture.

WyldFyre

That's just incredible. Outstanding work!!

Thank you, and no rush.

I have plenty to keep me busy - a lot thanks to you.

Update

Updated the Yogi Bear and Jetsons Home Dioramas

1) Yogi - added a soda bottle and a burger to the scene to make it closer to the picture

2) Jetsons Home - rotated Astro to face George more and moved him back a bit, removed Elroy's cap, closed George's eyes, added some blue "socks" to his feet and put his shoes behind his chair.
