Danger room Disappeared FF1

So I have had my freedom force installation for the better of 15 years, last running on a virtual machine. While trying to troubleshoot a host of problems I copied a 2 day old version of the base install back over to recover from a problem. And predictably produced another...

When I fired up FF it gave me a warning about some mismatch, and that it would be running from default. Default in my case is missing the DANGER ROOM. I didn't realize this was optional component. I can only play the main campaign, go to options, multiplayer etc...the danger room is just gone. Tried all the obvious, backups, re-installs. Been at this for 3 days straight, very frustrated. I've even downloaded GOG and Steam version on another computer...which had a host of other problems (FFX 2.6 gold wont run consistently). Please help

There might be a patch that you haven't installed. The Danger Room was added to through a patch (I don't remember which version) and if you've only downloaded the base game, that might be why.

Thanks. I indeed found patch 1.20 scouring through old hard drives and that is what introduced the danger room. Apparently my CD/install is 17 years old.
