I've heard that the best thing for arthritis is to stay active and to keep moving, not 100% sure if that's true or not, but are you able to get around at least?

Not as well as I could two years ago. And it's not that I'm getting old. The neuropathy means that I can't always feel the floor through the pain, and my footing isn't sure. Everything seem to hurt more the longer I walk or stand. Still, could be worse. Dead people don't hurt.

BentonGrey

Well, that's the truth.  At least you know you're alive, though it might be nice if your body weren't quite so insistent about reminding you, hmm?  That's an awesome attitude, my friend.

Have you tried swimming?  I know that it is a lot easier for some folks than other types of exercise.

Dunno. I'm going to have to do something soon. I've gained back all the weight I lost on the chemo diet. Of course, food started tasting like FOOD again...

SickAlice

Being candid here sorry but day to day. I'm a hobbler and my pelvis doesn't work right anymore so most forms of exercise are lost to me, biking, treadmills and so on. Since my body is open I can't swim anymore either which sucks because that was my go to. However just daily stuff. Yard work, walking to the mail box instead of driving. Also martial arts and dancing are a great form of exercise as well good therapy. Anything other than sitting on it. Though in my case I need to put on as I'm turning into a piece of paper but the exercise still needs to be had lest I atrophy. Still good to know your fighting the good fight. Best of luck.

I've been thinking about just walking in the pool. The water would give both support and resistance (I am limited as to how long I can stand and/or walk).

BentonGrey

I think that is a good idea, DG.  I've heard a lot of folks do something like that in similar situations.

Urg, that's terrible DG!  A kidney stone can make any situation worse.

I just hope you can get rid of that kidney stone through painless methods/treatments.

What they did was take a laser and cut it to pieces then remove it with robot claws. This was not as cool as it sounds.

Glitch Girl

too bad, it actually sounds kinda cool.

Then again being injected with radioactive chemicals sounds very comic-bookish, but the reality kinda sucks.

I can't say I have ever had the experience of a kidney stone, but one of the guys at work has so you have my sympathy.

Got the stent removed today. Wasn't as bad as I thought it might be, but it wasn't pleasant either.

Now I gotta get that stuff fixed up for Alex...

That's good to hear.  How are you holding up overall?

Pretty good; except that I have blue urine. It isn't the manifestation of some power, it's the side effect of medicine to relive the irritation the stent caused.

Hey, c'mon, we've discussed just about everything else here.

BentonGrey

Ha, that's a new one!  Maybe you'll find out you've got Kree heritage or something. ;)

Hey, a visit to the pulmonologist today produced a diagnosis of asthma. Next up is the sleep test to prove I have apnea. They have decided the nodules in my lungs are probably pneumonia scars, not cancer.

They have also adjusted my meds and I feel a bit better. Still, the asthma tests wore me out.

BentonGrey

Hey, that's good news, all told!  I'm glad you're feeling a bit better, man!
