Well it's definitely racist, but it's not as racist as when they were literally Nazis.

But I'm pretty sure the Volks they were created to make Wagens for aren't Jamaican, so it probably won't hurt their sales.

Ehh, I don't really see how it could be called racist, though you could say it's playing up sterotypes.  It seems pretty innocuous to me, no more controversial than the various beer commercials who have used Jamaican accents to create an image of relaxation and such.

Interestingly enough, it seems that all the Jamaicans actually commenting are not offended at all, just other people.  I mean, it's basically portraying them as cheery happy people that makes everyone else feel better just by pretending to be more like them.  Is it a racist stereotype?  Maybe.  It is a negative racist stereotype?  Not in the slightest.

Whoopi Goldberg covered it best with her comment about the ad.. "Is it more racist when a bunch of people complain about a white man having a Jamaican accent or when these same people totally overlooked that white people have lived in Jamaica for decades and believe that only black people live there. Think about it."
