Uncle Yuan

Sorry folks, I can't find an article to link that really says much more than that.  She was one of SciFi/Fantasy's great innovators, a Grand Master, and her work was a big part of my continuing love for the genre.

Farewell, Ms. McCaffrey.  Thanks for all the great tales.
"But there's no use crying over every mistake
You just keep on trying 'till you run out of cake
And the science gets done, and you make a neat gun
For the people who are still alive."

Oh, this is too bad.  She definitely came up with some great stuff.

"Cynicism is not maturity, do not mistake the one for the other. If you truly cannot accept a story where someone does the right thing because it's the right thing to do, that says far more about who you are than these characters." - Greg Rucka

BlueBard

There were certain themes running through her work that I disagreed with, but she was unquestionably one of the most influential SciFi authors and she knew how to weave great stories with characters that felt real.
