Of particular interest to anyone who'd like to play a Klingon or one of the other KDF races, Cryptic is doing something... unconventional... to address the shortage of KDF content.

For new players, you will have to play to level 25 before you can unlock the Klingon faction. New KDF characters will start at level 25. The idea seems to be that as Cryptic fills in the lower level content, they will "relaunch" the faction and reduce this limit.

If you are a paying subscriber NOW, you have an opportunity to create your KDF characters before F2P relaunches. You will not be subject to the unlock and your characters will be autoleveled to bring them up to par.
