I kind of see Franklin as a metaphor for a special needs child, with a touch of twilight zone.

That said it does drive me crazy to see all these teenaged children of heroes and villains, and for Frank to still be a little kid.

i read a few of the articles on that site. wow, pretty grim. the writer missed something however. if you accept that continuity was lost in 1991 (which i accept, fully), you still have a series called fantastic 5. the fantastic five is very continuity and allows the characters to grow up. it is actually very good. there was a series early 2000, and another one 2007. franklin is a young adult, and ben has interesting children.
