Um...Beard.  You are aware that there was a Doom Patrol/X-Force Amalgam team, right? 

The X-Patrol team was Beastling (Beast and Beast Boy combined), Shatterstarfire (Shatterstar and Starfire combined), Elasti-Girl (Rita Farr, Domino and the Wasp combined), Ferro Man (Colossus/Ferro Lad), Dial H.U.S.K. (Dial H For Hero/Husk) and lead by Niles Cable...They fought the evil Doctor Doomsday in one issue and in another they fought Brother Brood.

I was hoping there would be a Green-Men.  Mutants with power rings!

Hmm.... to add a twist....

The ring acts as a catalyst to unlock their latent powers.  It has the an Amalgam of the Xmen logo and the GL logo, in red and green.  Thus the individuals get mutated by the ring and (normally) don't have powers without it.  With it the have abilities similar to those of a mutant.  Except it'd be better as "super mutants" IE guys like Exodus who've had their powers artificially stimulated.

I have a bunch that I put together a while back:

Spider from Mars: nerdy kid finds a meteor with with a spiderlike green slime creature inside that stings him and dies. Shortly after he realizes that his skin can now morph and he has spiderlike and psychic powers. Aparently the creature was one of the last martians alive, and it transfered it's genetic information into him so that he may one day go back to mars and liberate the planet.

Iron Amazon:  Diana was never the strongest nor most skilled of her amazon community, but she was by far the smartest. With no place for her on the island, she left and quickly graduated as a master in robotics and science. Building a small empire, she returns to the island and allowed to "pick her weapons" she bests all challengers in combat, becoming the champion of the amazon island. Now she battles international threats in a powerful suit of armor and wielding mystical amazon weapons.

Thunder Man: After Thor-El falls in battle during Ragnarock, his spirit is sent to reincarnate on earth, ending up in the care of an elderly farming couple. After finding a massive hammer in his parents tool shed he gains his powers and memories, and begins a campaign against Lex Loki, a god of mischief who is taking over the worlds politics and finances.

Bat Devil: An alley robbery ended with his parents dead and he losing his sight due to a stray bullet, Bruce Murdoch considered suicide when he was a teen. Still, a bat bursting through the window stopped him and he realized that he could see, if he could his inheritance to design a good sonar system. Now he has gadgets which enable him to see ?sound?, glide between buildings and take crooks down with boomerangs that always hit their targets.
