Once again guys and gals it's that time again... The Annual Valentine's Day Challenge, and, because of a coincidence in dates, we will run the Mardi Gras Challenge at the same time. Create some kind of Valentine's Day or Mardi Gras themed content, be it art, characters, a mod, or dress your avatar or favorite character in hearts and flowers or green, gold and purple. Maybe you can create a new character, or find a character someplace (or somewhen) that has hearts, flowers, mummers, or merriment as part of their concept.
Rules are simple: Deadline is February 14th (Ash Wednesday). If you run a little late, that's okay.
Post a pic here so we can see it and give you the compliments you deserve.

Included is an old Joker Card I did. I have this idea (that will never happen in a story) where The Joker goes to The Big Easy to do a job, and he gets there the Friday before Fat Tuesday. He looks at the crowds and thinks: why not? So he puts on a gold bow tie and goes down to join the crowd. He wakes up on Ash Wednesday with a hangover, and looks behind him and sees... not a single dead person (that he caused, anyway). What memories he does have, are all good... and for the first time in a long time, he was happy. Maybe on the old Silver Age Earth...

Tonight on FRONTLINE: When Concepts Take Over.
Okay, it started like this: I had this idea last year of a group called The Lord of Misrule and his Miscreants. I did the Lord, but time and all that kept me from finishing. So, this year I decided to work on it. If you don't have Mardi Gras, you probably don't know about Mardi Gras [fancy party that starts with a "B"] (Hey! Get you mind out of the gutter). Here, a typical Mardi Gras Ball can have 5000 people, and the "fancy" ones, while smaller, will have more affluent attendees. And we are taking money, here. Everyone wears fancy dress, women wear their best jewels, and there used to be cash bars, cash for tipping limo drivers, doormen, servers... you get the picture. Here, in New Orleans, and in Pensacola there are Mardi Gras Kings and Queens and their court. The Queen chooses her Ladies in Waiting from this year's debutantes, and they each choose a Knight as their escort. In New Orleans, there are more people, more money, and more jewels.
For some reason, that got me to thinking of The Royal Flush Gang... at a Mardi Gras ball... and I began to lay it out like a Champions Scenario...
So, here is the Gang in Mardi Gras colors, some Ladies in Waiting, a bunch of Knights, as well as the Miscreants. And a jester tossed in for fun.

According to Tortuga: Paiku was in his bachelor apartment listening to the latest Barry White album when a blast of Energy X burst through his window. Paiku became endowed with White's "love" powers as well as...uhhhh...other things.
We are counting down to Valentine's Day/Ash Wednesday.

This is Apollo, depicted as a love god. I know I've seen him referred to as "a" love god, but it seems as though he isn't. Still, I like the idea of a super-type gaining "love" powers and naming himself "Apollo" instead of "Eros".

I had this idea that probably won't show up until next year about the society emblems forming a force to fight the Crew of Royals. The Mystic Stripers have a Tiger and a Zebra, the Conde Cavaliers have a cavalier, The Infant Mystics have a black cat, The Mystics of Time have dragons, The Order of Athena have, of course, Athena (but this year made a special place for Wonder Woman)... you get the picture.

Yes, all the Valentines have been given out, most of the trash has been swept up (Hey, is that DJ?), the beads beaten out of he trees, and the moonpies and candy consumed.
