Title: Mod Making
Post by: Ozymandiasveis on March 26, 2017, 01:14:04 PM
Hey guys! So after a bit of a hiatus froom freedom force, I'm finally getting back into the swing of things! So after a little bit of research into making a mod, I realized I'd need to know python scripting (no biggie there, I'm actually learning it!) But I was wondering if there were any tutrials on how to use python for making the mod, like what commands I'd need to use etc Thanks guys!

I'll have to see what I have in regards to Python, but until then, have you downloaded the Mod Tool Package? It includes some Tutorials on Mod Making if you're interested.

And if you're modding  :ffvstr: you can use M25 EZscript tools.
You can find more about it here:

Welcome back Ozy!  Yeah, Python isn't the only option.  EZScript simplifies things greatly, and it comes with an excellent manual.  I've also got some tutorials on my site.

The best game related information you're going to get when it comes to python comes packed with the game/editor. Just check the help files.

Secondly, I wrote a python style modding tutorial years ago that may be of use:

Hello one and all, after taking some time for me, I've decided to return to the realms of  :ff: and  :ffvstr: . It's nice to see all the wonderful things taking place by veterans and newcomers alike! Reminds me how much of a tight knit community this is.

Welcome back Or!  What you had before you left was really promising, so I can't wait to see what else you come up with!

Still giving me problems at the moment, but it's getting there, slowly. The biggest issues is the transitions between cutscenes, base screens and missions. But it's getting there. Had to do a few rewrites/edits but like you told me once before, it's a learning process.
