Ohh man, what a loss to the industry and for our collective imaginations! Darwyn Cooke, one of the greatest comic book artists of our age, has died:

I have loved his work since I first discovered it, and that set of covers he did for DC is some of my favorite art ever created.
Yeah, I found out yesterday. I pulled out The New Frontier and sat through it last night... still pretty fantastic, if a bit abbreviated.
Definitely one of the modern greats. What a shame.
Certainly one of the more interesting "voices" of this generation, fusing US, French & Belgian comics and graphic design influences into something unmistakably Darwyn Cooke.
