Title: Need some Photoshop help
Post by: Tortuga on January 27, 2014, 03:17:55 AM
Hey folks,

I'm putting the finishing touches on my band's upcoming CD and I need some Photoshopping help.  I want to know the best way to get this kind of effect:

Difference is, the background would be white.  Four pics will be taken and composited together and then each person's 'black space' (for lack of a better term) would be a different solid color.

And yes, I love Sloan :)

Any help would be spectacular!

Before you start composting,  give each person their own layer and mask out extraneous background.

Select the layer mask. Make it a selection. Create an adjustment layer Gradient Map.  Set the gradient from white to your intended color.  If your selection was up it should automatically mask to that layer.

Repeat with all members.

Hope that helps

Hmmm, I'm trying to follow your instructions GG, but I must be missing some inbetween steps.  I'm using an older PS (7, I think) but I don't think that's it.

Now I got it.  I needed to add high contrast to the pic layer. That's seems to be working now.  Thanks!
