Title: Turtle Roster?
Post by: BentonGrey on November 19, 2010, 07:03:07 AM
So, I was just fiddling with the TMNT mod a little bit, and I was thinking about all of the characters that I'd like to put into it sooner or later.  I thought it might be fun to see what y'all out there would like to have in the mod.  Whatever I end up adding will be heavily dependent on what I can get created, but I would like to know what y'all would like to see.

And here is some info about these characters in case you aren't terribly familiar with all of them:

The Punk Frogs: http://tmnt.wikia.com/wiki/Punk_Frogs
Leatherhead: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leatherhead_(Teenage_Mutant_Ninja_Turtles)#1987-1996_animated_series

Triceratons: http://tmnt.wikia.com/wiki/Triceraton
Metalhead: http://tmnt.wikia.com/wiki/Metalhead
Rat King: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rat_King#Teenage_Mutant_Ninja_Turtles_.281987_-_1996.29
Usagi Yojimbo: http://tmnt.wikia.com/wiki/Miyamoto_Usagi
Slash: http://tmnt.wikia.com/wiki/Slash
Mighty Mutanimals: http://tmnt.wikia.com/wiki/The_Mighty_Mutanimals
Armaggon: http://www.comicvine.com/armaggon/29-50047/
Future Turtles: The future versions of the Turtles from a somewhat postapocalyptic world, all older and more world weary (from the Archie series).

As much as I love Usagi and as awesome as I think he is, I never felt he fit in the TMNT universe which is the only reason I didn't vote for him.

Haha, I imagine that such a thing has existed, BB.

Yeah GG, Usagi can pretty much only be part of the Turtles' stories when some plot devices are employed.  If I were to use him, just such a thing would have to happen.  Who got your vote instead of everyone's favorite samurai rabbit?

Just to help those who may not be very up on their Turtles' lore, I've added some links to info about our various contenders in my first post.

@Benton

I went with Rat King mostly because I've always liked his design for some reason and because he comes with minions (rat swarms, rat mutants, giant rats, rabid rats, etc) so you've got plenty of stuff for your players to vanquish.

Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters!! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adolescent_Radioactive_Black_Belt_Hamsters)

Honestly Benton, I collected the original comics, never saw a single entire episode of any of the cartoons.  The only characters I recognise from your list are the Triceratons.

Bwah ha ha!  That would be so awesome to have the knock-off Hamsters in the game in a surprise melee!

Haha!  I may have to track that down at some point in time.

Yeah, while I like the original comics (and my Casey Jones is MUCH more like that one than the original 'toon version), I'm forever an adherent of the classic cartoon.  It's a huge part of my childhood.  Are there any characters from the original series that you would like to see Daglob?

We'd need a rat mesh (or perhaps a rat swarm fx?) of some sort, wouldn't we?
