Some of these stinking escort missions are really hard to do by yourself unless you are several levels higher than the mission level. The cop on the westside was tough to finish. I had to do the cat lady one twice becuase she ketp running off, and now I'm sturggling with the Mrs. Bigfoot mission. I almost need to take a healing power just to keep these fools alive.
Yes, I agree. These are my least favourite missions. They are soooo slow, and the people you escort seem to have no sense of self preservation at all. I've failed a couple and then just didn't bother doing them again, because they are so dull. I should memorize their path and then run and clear it out before they ever get to the first mob. That'd be the best way to do it.
Anyone tried escorting Dr Lo? Gotta get him through that Gadroon hill in Canada.
I hate fighting gadroon enough, but fighting them with an aggro magnet on my team? Jeez.
Ah, that one is a tuffy. I had to team up with another guy to pull it off.
Cat lady wasn't too hard... But I'm only 20, haven't tried any of the other escort missions yet, and up to 20 they seem pretty easy as long as you know the route they'll take.
I agree, the cat lady is the easiest of them all. I had a real tough one last night where I had to protect Defender's alter-ego while destroids attack and then lead him and the crowd on a long trek through the city. I pulled it off on the first try by pure luck and the intervention of some other folks who were passing by. I have two more on my to-do list. Next time I get a power from leveling up I"m going to get a healing power, I think.
I tried doing the one where you escort the police officer on a gang sweep in MC, and even 4 levels higher than the mobs I couldn't solo it; he ended up face down about 3/4 of the way through.
I remember doing that one several times in beta and never failing it. Then, the game launches for real and it's super tough. I think the cop was getting the same drops I was, so he was occasionally healed by that mechanism. It would be nice if the escorted folks would hand you a first aid kit in case they got hurt. As it stands now, escort missions are 2 players missions, I think.
The "Westside Story" escort mission was pretty fun, although i had to do it 3 times.
It really surprised me when the little girls pulled out the swords and began attacking!

I've done that on two or three different characters, and her health never dropped anywhere near the point where I got worried. (Did it early today on Midnight Crusader, and her health was at about 65% when I finished)
