Hilo folks, going through my bookmarks and saw ye olden FR pop up. So I thought I'd pop in and say hilo to everybody that's still around. I mostly have migrated to discord and the book of faces nowadays.
Lots of things have changed with me from last time I was here. I've been medically transitioning for about two years now. After I'm done dealing with trying to acquire my disability, I'll be legally changing my name to my forever chosen name. Originally this was going to be Gerri, a feminine take on my dead name, but after a lot of soul searching and seeking advice from friends and loved ones, I have chosen my forever name, and it might be familiar to folks.
My chosen name is Nyte Leah Thomas.
When DaGlob used that name for Nyte Dragon, I loved it so much! And when I wanted a name that was uniquely my own, not a reminder, that name always was in the forefront of my mind. Glitchy told me I would spend forever having to correct people on the spelling of it 😆. I hope DaGlob's watching from above and seeing how much that simple name change meant to me.
Besides that change I'm still me, just a lot older, and not really any wiser. Definitely more emotional though, and much more comfortable in my own skin.
As long as you don't feel comfortable in someone else's skin. That would be weird.
Ohhhh, *tilts head*, that's an interesting hypothesis, PG. Are you volunteering to help test this theory? I hear panther skin is quite fetching. 😈
