Title: Dialog Speed
Post by: BentonGrey on June 15, 2024, 05:03:51 PM
Hey folks, here's a random question.  Does anyone know what controls the speed of speech bubbles, how long they stay on the screen?  I'm wondering if I can slow them down slightly.

Isn't this based on the duration of the sound clip? If you use a 5-second clip, that's how long it's going to be shown.

It's been more than 20 years since I played with this, so take this with a pinch of salt or two. Maybe a shovel, actually.

Haha, no worries, Epimethee; I appreciate the response.  That's probably true for when you've got voiced dialog, but all my mods are unvoiced, just text.

I do vaguely remember, though, that for my (world-famous) mod FFQ, I had used silent sound files of various length to time the dialogs.

(Keep that shovel handy.)

Epi, that's an interesting idea!
