Title: DCUG - Question Missions
Post by: kidnasty on April 28, 2022, 02:11:48 PM
For some reason the 2 Question missions do not work properly.  I can get pt 1 to load, but it stays black screen.  If you save, it will load with multiple Questions as player.  I checked to see if all the stories and mission are there it seems correct.  Will keep checking the logs.

I have had this recently with a mission I made. The mission.dat file appeared to be corrupted so I had to recreate it.

Howdy guys; so, the issue here was that A) I had forgotten an unfade command, and B ) I had left the hero marker on the map, meaning it tried to spawn the character in addition to the one that was already on the map.  Here's the fixed mission, which should solve the problem:

EVENTUALLY, I'll have the whole thing tweaked and improved...one day....when life stops stomping on my head.  :P

Thank you for the file.  It is now working.  I guess it is safe to assume 02 has the same issues.  It also has the same problem.

Thanks again.

Fortunately, that's another quick fix:

Okay folks, that's all I can tackle at the moment.  Note any other troubles y'all run in to, and I'll tackle them when I come back.

Thank you again.  Keep up the great work.  I am trying to fix these on my own, but the learning curve can be tricky.

KN, thanks!  Yeah, it can take a while to get a good sense of how things work and what the common errors are.  Try reading my DCUG Developer's Journals for some insight and some examples.

I've used most of your information to fix small issues.  Templates, incorrect voice ids, adding attributes and powers to captions.dat.  It is very helpful.  Scripts and Missions is what I am trying to work on as well.  Long processes.
