Title: windblown's X-mansion
Post by: windblown on December 24, 2021, 02:55:23 PM
After my last computer crash, I've started to update some of my mutant skopes with imported parts before releasing them at last. I'll be previewing them here because I think the hex editing thread is better for them than the skinning one:

Of course they are all great. I mean that IS Emma. Let me know if I can swipe from you, credited as usual of course. I have some variants of these in the que, particular interest in Emma's costumes as of Hickman/Gala especially but I would like to keep it all in house rather than making an alternate to the best Nif to use, yours being it of course.

Sure, I'm doing her Hellfire Club look too and I need to adjust the keyframes to the new parts for the diamond animations before sending her to you. I'd love to see your ideas for the Hellfire Gala costumes.

Magma looks great too. Love the unique hair.

Glad you noticed that, I looked for a curlier hair style to get her differentiated from Magik, who is blonde too but has straight hair.

the Darkchylde
(https://i.imgur.com/YzKiyxb.jpg)

This one uses a mesh called "anime" for the legs. I don't know who is the original mesher so it´ll only be released if we find out who is him/her and is part of the skoping permission list. The alternative is the same skope but with human legs.
Title: Re: windblown's X-mansion
Post by: Randomdays on December 30, 2021, 11:13:05 PM
Windblown,

I used Blender to put some pan legs on a mesh for Dean a while back - I could do the same for you if you needed it - sizing them down for the female model. Since its a base mesh, there shouldn't be a problem with permission.

I like Cypher! I don't really like the hair choice. Most art I've seen of him had a shorter part.

Sam looks good. I always find it amusing how much his ears stuck out when he was a teen.
Title: Re: windblown's X-mansion
Post by: WyldFyre on February 04, 2022, 11:49:37 AM
I like all of them. As Pod said though, I think a shorter hair would be closer to Cypher's appearance in the comics.
Title: Re: windblown's X-mansion

So... Cypher got a haircut following Pod´s and Wyldfyre´s beauty tips (Thanks for the feedback! :P ):

What do you think? If that's still on the long side I'll look for another hair mesh. I also tried to modify his body type a bit.

I guess he had an otoplasty before graduating to the X-men. I like Sam, so I also made an "older" version of the head with smaller ears and different hairstyles just in case someone wants to skin more modern costumes.

This is how I think of his hair. I think you are using a more modern look (which is fine btw) but I always think of this more classic hairstyle.

A beautiful skin with any hairstyle.

Just popping in to say Warlock is a pretty skin/skope. I'd be interested to see what a mild refl on the yellow bits looked like in motion (something to make it look like electrical pulses going through it) but it's not a thing he needs. Dunno, it's early and I'm musing, but I do really like it.

Hey Windblown,

Glad to see you back in full force.

Had a question about Mirage/Dani Moonstar..   Is she going to have her bow & arrows for ranged attacks? Cause I was hoping to use normal arrows and her Psychic arrows.

And I was also curious if you planned on doing Firestar since she was an unofficial New Mutant/Hellion before she went off to the New Warriors.

I really need to get back into skoping again and finish up doing my ideas for The Right's Smiley Mechs and Cameron Hodge. So behind on WIP projects before I took my hiatus here after one crisis after another in my offline life.  :banghead:

Glad you're liking these ones, but I wanted to remind everyone that many parts on them are imported from mobile games over FF meshes, so that's the reason of them looking good.

I'm pretty busy because of real life issues lately, but I've just thought of previewing something that I did while I was working on Cannonball last month, just in case that someone is interesed on it. I modified the previewed head to get Sam in different moments of his life (from his New Mutants days to the X-men ones):

Sunspot evolution was in the works, so if you like this one, I'll preview him in the future when it's finished. I have other not finished skopes, but I think it's going to be a while until I can finish them.

Honest to gosh on your April comment there, I tear apart mobile game resources among any other like a fiend and it is the single best way to learn how to anything yourself. More I steer away from it now when I can "but" it's only because I feel comfortable with what I picked up from doing it. I mean these are the professionals so there's only a benefit of digging in deep and seeing exactly what their methods are. I think I see it reflect in your own from scratch work, I can typically tell when I part comes from another source or not. And above all else I have a mantra that says "whatever looks best/will be of the most use to members of the community". Like Tiger Claw just now (almost a year and half to finish it though, yikes!) from "me". It's almost entirely made by someone else and they in turn (I read a bit of this) were given stock models from the CGI series itself to work with. So by the mantra there was not a better fit for me to pass to people here that want Tiger Claw in Freedom Force. It's the right way to do this as far as I'm concerned since in the end it's all about the joy anyone derives from what we've put together.

Amazing. Your skopes are always so good and the skins are top notch.

Just a preview of something that's coming in the future, I've been working on getting different heads/faces for my characters and got this team done:

They're the main characters of the New X-men team: Surge, Prodigy, Elixir, Hellion, Anole, Mercury, Dust, Pixie, X-23 and Rockslide.

A site filled with Ninja Turtles and X-Men. My two favorite things. Can't wait to have those running around the Rumble Room. You can look at those faces and identify who they are straight away.

It's been a while, but last week I found a model that I liked a lot and that inspired me to get this character updated:

Polaris is one of my favorite mutants and I liked her inclusion in the X-men team after the first Hellfire Gala. It's a shame that it only lasted for a year. I'll update her classic costume eventually.

Happy New Year to everyone.

Can't wait for dl. I have plans to make some X-Men, specifically I want to do some Hellfire Gala outfits but I really want your stuff as a template for them.

New skope: Alani Ryan aka Loa, a hawaiian X-men student with the power of molecular distortion, she can "swim" through solid matter making it to crumble, an aggressive (https://comicvine.gamespot.com/a/uploads/original/0/77/132847-33304-loa.jpg) version of a phasing power.

This character has been a background student most of the time but, for a short time, she was Namor's sidekick and a member of the Defenders (https://comicvine.gamespot.com/a/uploads/scale_medium/11/117763/3260081-thedeep00409.jpg) (with the likes of Silver Surfer (https://comicvine.gamespot.com/a/uploads/original/11/117763/3259996-thedeep00208.jpg) or Dr. Strange).

Thanks Pod! Glad to see you're still around :)

Here is another mutant with an special phasing power: Simon Hall aka Neophyte, one of the youngest and more compassionate Acolytes.

Neophyte is a phase-morpher able to merge his mass with other objects, he can use this as a means of transport, letting him travel over a distance through uniform surfaces (for example, he can touch one brick of the outer wall of a building and appear on the roof or inside of it).

Any thoughts on when you plan to uploads/dl on the site? I'm not ready yet myself but I am tinkering with X-Men characters and in a lot of cases I want to use your nif and keyframes as the bases for the costumes.

Cipher is an X-men student with stealth powers including phasing, invisibility, inaudibility and telepathic immunity.

With my last computer change, I've lost most of the keyframes that I had :( , and I need to remake them again (and I'm slow because skoping keyframes is more boring than skoping meshes for me). Besides Emma...what previewed characters are you more interested in? I'll move them forward in my list or I'll send them to you if they're ready.

Ouch and sorry to read that. I just backed up all of my files to USB yesterday actually out of fear of that very thing. I always keep a SATA bridge on hand though and tear out the laptop hard drives due to losing stuff in the past, it's a life saver. Mostly interested in any of your standard X-Men stuff like Magik, Emma, the popular characters just I can have mine match the animation sets.

Wicked is a Genoshan mutant able to summon ghost-like entities from the energy left behind by the death of living beings.

She was one of the survivors of the Sentinel attack on Genosha, then she joined to the Excalibur team assembled by Professor X to rebuild the island, but eventually she got depowered by the M-Day. She recently appeared, fully repowered, helping the Krakoan Marauders to summon the spirit of Kate Pryde's father so she could talk to him.
