I've uploaded a list of skins for Freedom Force on the mega site I'm using for everyone to check out. This should give everyone, especially some of the newer users, an idea of whats out there and available. While the previous list focused mainly on meshes, this one is more for skins.

The list is at the bottom of the main page.
1) The list is a text file for now - I might go to xml later, but this works for now.
2) The list is divided into groups and sub groups alphabetically, mainly for DC and Marvel at the moment.
3) Each entry is setup in 4 columns - 1) name of the skin, w) what group the character is mainly associated with, 3) the mesh used and 4) the skinner
4) The list is still very incomplete from what I have available. Future updates will keep adding to it.
5) The list is still very incomplete from the total files available, due to some files being lost over time, some I haven't got yet and some that I just didn't have much interest in.
6) There's still a few holes on the list for unknown skinners. I'll put out a help request when I'm done with what I couldn't find.
7) Please hold off requests for files for now until I'm further along. Then I'll be happy to take requests to help everyone out.

I've been working on indexing more skins for the past few weeks. I'll probably post next week as a monthly update.
At present the list is at about 3300 or so skins. I think I'll probably wind up at about 6000 for FF1. Separating out the skins that need a mesh and making notes on the ones that I can't identify a skinner for.

Om my part, as soon as I get a bit further along I'll be taking requests. Depending on what you want, some sites are still active like Sick Alice, Alex F, Laughing Paradox, Hero Force, and Tommyboy. Check out those sites to see what's available.
There are lists at the top of this forum that Daglob and others have made of some sites that are available. My imports are available on a mega site. Other sites are gone but you can grab some material with the wayback machine.
And of course, if there's anything you want, ask. If someone here has it, we'll all be happy to either help you find it or send it your way.

Wyldfire - The original site was great and showcased a lot of work that might have otherwise been lost.
As I mentioned in some email with Benton, my SD card with everything I had for FF, FFvt3R, and some other games, just got corrupted - the card's MFT files are bad. Working on a (hopeful) recovery that's looking good, but recovering over 170 gigs of data isn't quick or easy. It will still be another 2 days for the program to finish trying to reassemble everything and I'll know if I'm back in action again or dead in the water.
With the yahoo groups gone, more and more classic work might vanish if its not preserved. While the hoarders out there are great, having a web site with as much as possible on it will help as even the hoarders vanish. Hard to believe how many years the game has been out and the outpouring of passion and the thousands of characters created since then. While no match for current graphics, FF can still do many things that modern games can't - I think the era where including an editor with a game to make and expand its scope has passed.
Looking forward to your site's return and growing even larger and better. If you need help getting anything, just ask. Hopefully I, or someone out there, can help.

So, After almost 2 weeks from the original crash, almost everything has been recovered.
I'll be doing a small update to the list soon with the map files I have.
I have a bit over 170 different maps for FF, plus conversions for most of them to FFvt3R (that will be on a separate list). The new list with the maps will probably be uploaded tomorrow.

The new list is uploaded. I think all maps are for FF, except cmdrkoenig67's that I think are all for FFvt3R.
Also, I have a map pack with about a dozen maps converted from FF to FFvt3R by Renegade, and another pack with about 160 conversions by Gogglespizzano.
Most of the maps on the list are available on the FRP1 and FRP2 backup sites. Tommyboy's should be on his site.

Uploaded an update to the list - about 500-600 news skins, almost all for DC.
I think I have just about everything for the Legion of Superheroes(over 220 skins!) for FF off of my disk archives - there might be some more online though.

New update to the list, done bit by bit over the last couple of months. About 400 new entries. Still concentrating on FF1 mainly, by some FFvt3R files are beginning to sneak in - those are marked 'FF2" at the end of their line entry.

Another update to the list - a few hundred more entries. Closing in on the 6000 mark!
Getting down to the hard search and finds. We have meshes with no readme files, skopes where I have to find the kf files, and some skins where there's no readme for what mesh they belong to. Case in point is C6's Invaders pack on Alex's site - no master readme for each skin so its guessing if I have the right mesh picked for them.
Some meshes look like they're for FF1, till you get the 'fallback nif thing' error, and have to move it to FFvt3R to check it out.
Not posted yet, but the list is up around 6100+ meshes and skins.
I've been doing a lot of the indexing from LP's site, considering the issues there, and a lot of Gren's and LP's stuff is done
I'm also downloading 20 gigs worth of skins and meshes sent from an older member, a large collection of things they've done and downloaded over the years.
It'll take a while to go thru that on top of what I have already.

So far I have only one error I cant fix - KSS released a Wild Huntsman skope off of Persuader TVLite. I've tried the kfs for that, as well as other Tommyboy kfs, some Vxs, male basic and I don't know what else, but none are working. Anyone familiar with this skope?
I would say that 7000 is easily attainable, and probably 8000. Not sure how much more there would be after that, but we'll see when we get there.
Also as mentioned on the Christmas request thread, I'll be taking (limited) requests from people looking for some skins or meshes. Just don't go crazy all at once.
Maybe a dozen or so at most for each request.
Let me look around a bit. I had a set of keyframes for that I know. May take a day or two as I'll be working, but I'll see what I can find.
Found the working keyframes. Sent with mesh as well, just in case it had been modified somehow. Works in CTool for FF1 haven't checked FF2.

Oh, the Bridge and Castle_Map are by Gengoro; the Russian military base, the Carrier, and the Wrestling map are all by Conduit (you have them as by Unknown authors)

I did see the "X_forest_night_map on the backup site under other, but still no info on who did it. It has "TE" in front of it if that's any help.
Right now, I haven't got any multiplayer maps archived yet, unless its by accident.
I am thankful for you making this list. I refer to it a lot.
Blaze and Destroyer were made by Flash22798. (I have the readme file for those.)
I am working on possibly turning this into a spreadsheet so it can be grouped by skinner etc. It would help me with Museum searches for sure.

I wish I had kept better track of where I downloaded files from back in the day. It would help a lot with the "unknowns" on the list
Very few of Flash's skins have readme files in them, or maybe I don't have them since he put them outside of the skin folder like I've seen a few people do, and I didn't keep that part of the zip. He's one of a very few that uses full body portraits and that helps me identify his work.
I should have checked the portraits and that would have helped me with those two. Checking out the Deadpool mesh, I think the Deathstroke, Impasse, and male Photon skins are by Flash a well.

Its about 6600+ at the moment, but still lots to add! Some spelling errors fixed, unknowns identified, and incorrect artist id's fixed
It still amazes me how much content the modders created for these two games. There aren't many left these days, but there's tons of content that's been done over almost 20 years.

Sorry for the late reply - it will have to be by request. Some of the creators still have active pages with downloads so I won't have links without their permission, and the museum that's being worked on will have links to some of the old works.
I made the decision way back to unzip all the files I had and add the kfs and alternate skins to them as I could. This unfortunately really increased the size of the file and accidentally lost a few readmes on who did what. My character collection, also with maps and other items, fills most of a 256 gig SD card. I don't mind zipping up a few for requests, but doing a mass project for all and hosting them is outside my scope.

With some time off this week, I've been working on the list a bit. I've added a bit over 200 more so far and found some more great skins/meshes, and unusual ones among the bunch.
Did you know that Daglob did a skin of Barbara Eden in her genie outfit to go on the Green Genie mesh? Wow!
Freedom Force Forever going down hurts, since they were going to be grabbed "later" and now I'm not sure how much that was there I have and don't have.
Still so many without a read me for credit, or even to know what mesh to put the skin on.
I'll probably do an update online when I get to 7000 or so. 10,000 still looks like it could be totally possible.

It's just short of 7,000, but subtracting the header lines and adding back in the entries that have multiple skins, I think it should pass over the 7 grand total. New entries are all over the various different heroes and shows.
At present, I'll have to say "No" to most requests.
There's a few meshes/skins that I was looking at that are not on the list, and are on hold due to missing meshes or kfs. I'll have to deal with those later and put out another request thread for them.
Though one that I spent some time and frustration on is Pod's Black Tarantula Hex. It says it's mesh is "CC_collar_noextras" off of a Gren mesh. I thought "cc" meant "Classic Colossus", but no matter which kfs I tried, nothing worked. Any help with that would be appreciated.

I think it is Checkmate_Commando you are looking for. I have a Blobula skin which uses that mesh.
WyldFyre - that makes sense, and it worked! Thank you! I had actually tried a few Checkmate kfs, just not that one, and had locked onto the Colossus mesh in my head.

I have a black tarantula that is the skin of a colossus. If you want I'll pass it to you but I don't know the author.
Send it along. If I already have it, no loss, and if I don't, then that's one more for the total that's growing all the time.

Benton was supposed to be getting DG's FF backups from DG's daughter at some point. I'm not sure if anything has happened with that seeing as Benton has been busy with the new semester and we all felt it best to give the daughter time to mourn before worrying with trying to get them to Benton. But it has potential to bring some of the stuff we are missing back....maybe...perhaps....
Edit: Also looking at the list, the first thing that popped up to me there is a load of Amalgam skins missing - many of them I did back in the FFC days. I don't ahve them but there used to be a yahoo group that was nothing but Amalgam skins and I know that a few of the old Freedom Force Center dls on wayback still work - DG found quite a few of my really old works there. Might be worth a dive, at least.
That would be nice... some of DG's stuff from obscura is missing, besides whatever he collected. I doubt that even he knew what he had. Same with Cyber

My biggest problem is that I've lost so many skins over the years...between hard drive explosions, site movement, and such..I've lost a ton of the work I did. Most of what I have now is the stuff that was on Hero Force or in Benton's mods and that's about it....even other artists works are lacking for me....I was never a major hoarder but still....used to have a lot more than I do nowadays.... :(
But as Wildfyre has pointed out, I've still got the memories from those days and can sometimes look at stuff and tell you who might've made it and where it might've been originally hosted/why it was made/etc....

Yeah but the stuff pre-FRP - the stuff from Freedom Asylum, Freedom Force Underground, part of Freedom Force Center (WF was able to get some of them and get them on the museum), Electric Freedom, and...I think that was all the places I was hosted....ugh...so many places over the years...oh yeah, NPI..has been pretty well lost to the ether it seems. What happens when you end up jumping from host to host over the years and such...<shrugs>...say la vie....is the way of the internet...
Angelfire site. I don't remember what I had before that. Some weird webservice that probably doesn't exist anymore. My skins were trash anyways then.
As for as Cyber is concerned you never know. I've search his name here +Mediafire or other combinations, like a specific thing perhaps, and I swear there's no end in site of how many individual backups he made on a few different hosts floating here and there. Worth a shot maybe.

A few notes I'd like to add;
1) Until I can find a complete of mesh/skin/kf, I won't be putting an item on the list. If it doesn't work yet, I'll add it when I'm as complete as I can think I can get. Probably list it as a general topic of "incomplete" . I'm trying to get these filled on the requests forum.
2) I've got some items that I've worked on/ helped with/ received for test from other members. In most of these cases, they haven't been released since that's what they've requested. I won't put these on the list
3)There's a few sites still active, some backups and some things on archive.org. I'll post the main working links at the top of the list. There are topics covering what's out there though on the site though.
4) There are actually a few reasons why I'm making the list -
a)To organize what I have, and see what's out there that I don't have that I need to still get.
b)To help others out there who are looking for a character and want to know if its already been made.
c) To see what characters are out there that still, after all these years, haven't had a mesh or skin made for them. Hopefully a skinner / mesher can be persuaded to fill in these holes. I've already been able to fill in a few holes with imports and doing some basic work with what skills I have (like the Jupiter Men from Thor I just body swapped.
While I'm basically interested the Silver and Bronze age characters, I know that others are more into the Modern and Golden age characters as well.
There's still a lot to do, but if there are any former creators out there, checking in to see how things are going, what help you can give would be very much appreciated - identifying an unknown mesh or skin - either yours or someone else you recognize; posting or sending what you have if you have a collection - either as a mediafire link, or sending it by email - to me or Wyldefyre would be great.
I had thought of sending some pm's, but I'm sure they see what's going on, and I didn't want to bother them.

Uploaded a new list - about 7500 entries now
added about 100 lines of text up top, mainly for people new to the game.
With the trouble of some sites partially, or completely disappearing lately, I went ahead and did some monstrous downloading of meshes and skins - almost all of detourne me's files, plus SA and Tommyboy among others. A lot are probably duplicates, but better to have them just in case.
Looking at things, I would say I'll easily get to 10,000 meshes and skins before I'm done.
Not a lot of time at the moment, so mainly going through detourne me's massive mediafire collection. I went ahead and did a bulk download of them all to a sd card to make searching easier, as well as the character backups from the other group.
The beginning count was just a bit over 5000 files. Eliminating non FF files and duplicates brought it down by about a 100, and deleting files that I knew I had already, like mine to start with, brought it down a few hundred more.
I think the biggest finds so far have been some early LP skins not on the current site, and over 20 early skins by Murs - not at Champions or LP's site. The Forum archive have been very helpful - I went through all 14 pages of Murs work from 2007 and dm's group had almost all of them. Murs put a simple readme in his zips, but didn't identify himself in the text.
I've also been able to identify some previous "unknown" skins that I had already put on the list, which makes me happy.
As I continue to go thru the files, I'm sure that there will be many that I've already indexed, but plenty of new items to go with them as well. Added about 150 more from the last update so far.
I have both games in their original boxes, plus some cd's and dvd's inside the boxes full of content that's being moved onto my large sd card.
I'm going to keep the sd card right next to the game boxes in a dvd case for easy access and safety.
Almost done with the custom cover for the case, and thought I'd see what you thought of it. Mainly sizing it up and putting the logos on the spine.
And no, I won't be offering the collection for sale or anything like that. You're free to use the image for your collection of course.
Maybe move the front logo to the left side and adding the FFvt3R logo to the right? Add an inside flap showing some highlights like this one from the Hulk collection?

Excellent idea! I had also started to print some sheets with my favorite dream groups that I have in FFvs3R and all that would be in a folder and a box.

About 7700 skins now.
Most interesting find for this last batch was two MotU skins from TUE for Sam the Eagle - Skeletor's hawk "Screech" (I didn't even remember him at all) and "Zoar", the bird form of the Sorceress. Great work from TUE I had never seen these before. From way back in 2004 (dm's mediafire dump)
So, with the skins/ meshes I have, I don't see anything for the MotU Sorceress. No complete release after all these years?

The next release will have a lot items in it thanks to Daglob. in two ways:
1) I'm going through the download of "Daglob's scope shack." It looks like it has some things not up at Alex's or SA's sites.
2) Some of the requests that he filled still have active mediafire downloads, and have a surprising amount of things I've not seen before. IE there was a request by Hod, I think, that had male_hood in it. Now, I've already got male_hood with about a dozen skins for it, but DG's zip had almost 40 different skins! Some were from my dozen of course, but most were new. Even a couple from C6 that I didn't have. Some were by unknown skinners with no readmes, and some were from skinners I'd never heard of before.
I had the same experience. Him and CB went wild on Mediafire. As I'd said you have to dig for their posts but they both made a lot of single DL pages that aren't attached to their main accounts just for real odd stuff. And that included me, yes. He did send me an email and asked to do it. I have a lot of stuff I'd rather have parted with. Old things and things for the 1st game but Daglob was insistent that he really like them so I said sure. I also host a few of my junky skins because he personally asked me to and to convert them. And mind you I did collabs with both of them so they also had files that I never uploaded anywhere. I gave permission there as well mind you and they always asked first.
I've been doing some searching like that. Not all the links still work, but enough do to make it worthwhile to check.
They were both great hoarders, but also had enough skill to create content. Like all of us, not everything they did was great, but they both had some good work to be found if you looked at it. And what I might not like, someone else would appreciate.

Devoted, maybe a bit too much I had thought but it was their thing. They wanted to answer every request here including any potential ones. And a few people were very thrown when Yahoo groups went down including them. Even Mediafire I say it's bad to rely on those file hosts. It's always a matter of time before something happens to all that. And I miss them too, especially Daglob for the personal conversations and the enthusiasm he brought to this community. Like a lot of our joint projects were exhausting for me but just to see how excited he was about it made it worth it or requests from his niece likewise. And his holiday stuff of course. Else make anything about Deadpool and those two would just be ecstatic about it. But boy did they really see into the future to today with all the file backups, that's for sure. And it would be smart of anyone to collect that as you seem to be and back it up elsewhere as I say those service are just not reliable.
