Okay, I found out how to get the program to find the game paths, but how do you set it up to show the skins on the mesh in the window? Pleeeze? :)
I've never figured that out either. I'd certainly be interested in this answer as well!
FF1 has always given me issues with this, but usually, in FFvt3R, if I'm using DDS files, NifSkope automatically picks them up.
wow! i never knew there was a nifskope 2, it looks spiffy.
if you go to Options>Settings>Resources you can select different skin folders.
I see that, I was trying to get it to automatically show the "downstream" skin. Could you post a pic of what the setting look like?

...actually I had a weird moment where any work i did using nifskope 2 just corrupted the character.nif files and the meshes wouldnt even open in CTool2. So I deleted Nifskope2. Went back to my old copy that was still installed on my PC.
