Some of what you're talking about is way above my skill level. Substituting small rockets for the big ones (something that is on my list to do, you didn't mention it, but I think she'd look better) I can probably handle, though. The gloves aren't a problem, and I've turned some of Tommy's boot cuffs into something that looks a little like fringe before...

If all else fails, I'd like to learn how to turn obj into nif (I want to do this anyhow) and then rig it for FF.

Ink's Moonstar has separate braids/pigtails; I used them on a different mesh once.
On the braids on the head, Sick Alice (aka Catman) has done some fantastic things sculpting meshes.

Actually, finally looking at female_rockets, her arm seems to glitch out during idle and her rockets don't have any emitters during flight animations, so I might not even need her as a base after all.

So, I've got a wild one now.
I'm looking for an "original" character... the parts at least.

So that's the character. Sort of a yankee soldier look. But with some transparencies, so that the little cap can be replaced by Minuteman statue style hair. And then the shoulder cape, but that's like... That's only if it's possible. That's the very least of the things needed. Although, thinking about it, that might be one of the easiest. I know a piece I could use and have already used it on multiple meshes, with transparency, ha ha. The bottom of the coat could be from Ren's Hydra Soldier mesh, and I might be able to pull the other parts from various Ren Captain America's, I think. Oh, one has a canteen even, which would be cool. The rifle is probably somewhere right?
But, like, the hat? The hair? Any ideas where to find those?
And even more! I am looking to get him with most of irrational's "soldier" mesh keys. That Hydra Soldier mesh Ren did on these keys. BUT WAIT IT GETS WORSE! I'd also like a couple Minuteman keys in there. Specifically his melee_3 where he does a 360. I just checked and I think the one from the original FF (that is on the "Frank Stiles" mesh) is a bit better for what I have in mind. His special, area, active_defence are also great. And, I'm super into his idle in FFvsTR where he does the little staff spin. That would be so cool. WAIT, LET ME MAKE THIS MORE IMPOSSIBLE! The ranged animations are great but fire way too many shots. The ranged would be better with only 1. Ranged_2 with 3. Ranged_3 with 5 max. That's being generous. I've seen some swell shooting animations on various Punisher and etc meshes that would be good.
So, I doubt all these keys can be blended, by that is the sort of style I am going for. A character constantly carrying a rifle, who has a couple melee attacks using the rifle, a "kick away" attack, and some "rally"s and stuff. I haven't decided on hero file exactly, but I know the basics of what he can do.
Hopefully something like this can come together! I appreciate any help and knowledge anybody can share! Thank you in advance!

Tommy has a cavalry soldier. If I can find it I'll send it to you. It may not be what you want. I don't think it has a Civil War style cap.
With some skope work and a bit of keyframe magic, you might be able to turn my Jungle Jim skope into this. The key work is beyond me but it shouldn't be too hard to slap hair, CapAm belt bits, and the Hydra skirt on it.

And the "Tom_Versatile_Fixed" Mesh has a "Hat_Cap_01" that is kind of similar to what you're looking for.

Lord Ehmsidy did a mesh with a cap similar to that, as I recall. Lady Luger maybe?

Lots of good suggestions but haven't quite found the right hat or hair for this dude yet. Spirit of 76 has a Minuteman hat, which I could use in a pinch, but I'd rather just have the looser hair.
Also, what do people know about keys? Right now he's using a Ren mesh that was put onto Irrational's "soldier" keys. It looks good but I would at least like to get a 360 staff sort of attack with his rifle.
So A) what keys have staff attacks like that, and B) how does one go about adding totally different keys? Is that possible or no, because all the nodes would be different?
I don't know too much about it.
Keyframes aren't really my strong suit, but I do have a few ideas on this. Not sure if they'll pan out or not, but it couldn't hurt.
Hey Unko, due to time constraints, I can try to help out here and there, but I don't think I could make a full commitment. I do, however, have some questions for clarification's sake:
1) Will this be for :ff: or :ffvstr: ?
2) From the way it sounds, you're starting with Renegade's "Hydra Soldier" Mesh as a starting point. Is that correct?
3) I think if we can't find the hair or hat on any of Tommyboy's, Gren's, Vertex's or Texas Jack's Meshes, then we could probably check out sites like the Model's Resource, or Free3dm, or something. But I would say, let's focus on the Keys and whatnot first.
4) Speaking of Keys, you mentioned Minute Man from FF1 and the Frank Styles Mesh. Do you have a location for the Frank Styles Mesh? And can you make a specific list of which Keys you want to be added from each Mesh? (Again, no guaruntees, but I'm willing to try)

If you have the first FF game, have you checked your Art.ff file for this
I don't have it installed and the disc is packed away somewhere. That's why I ask.

As for the other Skope, I'm looking into scaling the gun during the throw animation. I just have to find my notes on it, and hope that I can figure it out. But I'm still looking for a left handed throw animation just in case.

I forgot to say about that. I do know where are some left handed throws. My avatar even uses one. His ranged_5 animation. It's on quite a few other meshes. I can search for it if you want me to.
I was going to use M25's keyframe transfer to just see if I could copy them over, but they were incompatible versions, and EZNif Convert seems to not be working for me again. I dunno why. Annoying.
But I was also unsure if you did anything fancy to make the keys work.
Actually, while writing this I just checked and AA's Captain Britain Classic's ranged seems great. It's a modified version of that same animation.

I know they exist, I just don't happen to have one on my harddrive and can't think of one off the top of my head.
Especially useful if it can use standard female animations so I can have flip dodges and wrist mounted blasters. Hooo boy.

Do any meshes exist that is a female with tentacles instead of arms, or they use attacks where tentacles come out of their hands like the Sentinel meshes, or like an Omega Red or something?
Just curious. For a concept I had, but might not use. If there was a way to cover up a regular female mesh's hands with just spiky ends so they look like tentacles, I would be very on board for that, since then I could keep the hex I'm using, based on Beardinedlair's Spiral.
Bearded's Ruby Tuesday had tentacles that shoot out of her head. I did a scope for Iron Spiderwoman:

I might not use these tentacles, but this is cool! I love how her spider sense goes off when she dodges. Actually, I've seen some other dodges that use effects. Going to try using some of that.

Okay, another weird request. Is anybody able to convert some objects to static nifs for use as objects in FF?

I'd like to have these four tombstones as four separate nifs. I don't know anything about making them destructible though, but that would be cool as well. Might be a lot to ask!
Basically I'm trying for a couple different, decent tombstone models that can smash and use the same texture files. I looked in a "cemetery" map and didn't like the tombstones I saw.
In addition, I'm on the hunt for some kind of tomb or mausoleum, that could also be destructible and used as a building object in game.

What format are the tombstone in? If they can be imported into Blender, they can be exported as nifs and .objs. I can't promise they will keep their skins, is the problem. That is to say, someone better at Blender than I might can do it so much better. Just it can probably be done.
Unko: When you tried using these in Blender, did you just try to "Open" the Files, or did you "Import" them?
I didn't look at the link this morning (it was 2am and the antibiotics decided to have their way with me). Blender has an Import function that gives you a list of all the formats it can use. Then when you export, same thing (more or less... still worn out).
Import. I was just really lost though. Didn't get bounding boxes or how pieces worked or any of that jazz. I could import it just fine, but then I was like, "What am I doing?"
That was before I totally gave up trying to use Unreal Engine, last fall.

After trying this out... I can import into blender, but then I can't get into edit mode, even with the mesh selected. Can import .dae, .3ds, .obj, but then sometimes the .3ds or .obj impot dialogue just won't open for some reason?
Very confusing to me. Tried for a while, then gave up. Might try in the future but right now it's just like... I dunno. I don't get it.
Have you saved it as a .blend file? Not the answer to your problem (I think), but always a good thing to do. I suppose that you have eliminated the annoying box. Does it have to be an .obj, or can it be a .nif?

I think I saw one once but am not sure. Is there any mesh that acts like a Marvel Vs Capcom style Venom, with attacks like his whole body becomes a mouth or whatever. Real free flowing, shape shifting sort of stuff.
