Didn't see anything posted but thought some of you might like to know. Passed away yesterday from brain cancer at 68 y.o.
A true artist, whose exquisite line work expressed sensibilities very rarely seen in comics.
I mentioned it before.Truly sad news.
His Captain Sternn is really an underated classic.
I think if I really put effort into it I could come up with a few artists who may equal Wrightson in talent.
I literally cannot even imagine anyone being a better artist. Everything from his Frankenstein prints to his Marvel-era horror books and Occasional superhero work such as his covers for The Gargoyle and his penciling on Batman: the Cult were just awe-inspiring.
My first inspiration this one. I used to walk about in a Wrightson t-shirt with a picture of Frankenstein he did on it.
