Howdy, y'all.
I've been adding updates to :ff: and :ffvstr: for my laptop and suddenly got inspired to create a new effect for the Transformer Jazz. Jazz is known for his 'light and sound' displays, produced by his 180 dB car stereo and his chest-mounted headlights. Though they were designed to distract and disable enemies, Jazz is a Earth pop-culture nut who loves his R&B, rock and (80's style) heavy metal. What I'm looking for is some music I could convert to .WAV, similar to the track for the "Love Song" active defense shield. Can someone help me find some- 80's-90's Prince
- Jem (yes, "Truly Outrageous" classic Jem)
- 80's-early 90's Madonna (In the comic, Jazz does skip out on a training exercise because he wanted to wait until "Material Girl" finished playing.)
- Cold Slither - Instrumental Version (The vocals only play in the G.I. Joe version.)
- M People (no reason -- I just like their music, especially the remixes)
- Other ideas are always welcome.
So far, I've already found the "generic rock music" The Transformers shared with Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends and G.I. Joe - A Real American Hero. I thought of adding Jem's "Glitter and Gold", but couldn't nail down 20 seconds or less that I thought would be high-energy enough. (Those are my .wav needs -- 20 seconds or less, high-energy or 'fast dance' music, and something that plays (just) loud enough to get everyone's attention.)

Thanks. Still working on the visual part. The start.nif (reworked from the Dazzler Flash Bulb) looks great, but I'm trying to re-work the core.nif from either Dazzler Flash Bulb (excellent for making a getaway during a fight, like Tien Shinhan's Solar Flare) or AFF_[color]_boom. The latter looks promising, but I don't have what I need to edit .DDS files (for the FFvtTR version). What do I need to download?
As far as (.DDS) Files go, there are a few options. Depending on your graphics program, there's probably a plug-in that will let you work with (.DDS) Files. Another option, is to use a program like XnConvert to change your files between (.TGA) Files and (.DDS), and the like.

Thank you. I use Paint Shop Pro 9.01 for most of my work, and sometimes a "portable" version of Photoshop. I'll have to look for a plug-in for .DDS, but I certainly hope it (or XnConvert) is free.
XnConvert is free, I've been using it forever without problems, plus it does bulk conversions. Here's the link if you want to check it out:

XNConvert did the trick! Thank you. I pretty much have the FX exactly how I want it. I've added another piece of music, but still need one last clip in order to call it done. Something from Prince ('Let's Go Crazy'? 'Batdance'? 'Get Off'?) or Michael Jackson ('Black and White'? 'Beat It'? 'Bad'?)...
