The other request thread was getting a little long.
I'm trying to fix GIMP to run on my laptop, and I need a plug in to make it read .dds files. I got this thing that I have to compile with an assortment of /choices, but I would rather have just a simple plug in that I can just "plug in". Most Photoshop filters will run in GIMP, so if you know where I can get one, or have one you can send to lonespaceranger@gmail.com, I would appreciate it.
I "Might " have something. I'll check when I get home tonight and let you know.
Since I can't get Nifscope running, I need the wireframes for Tommy's Captain America New T also.
Here's a bunch of GIMP stuff, I don't remember what's what, but something should work for you: http://www.mediafire.com/file/liu7bv6b8bqb0wk/GIMP.7z
Thanks!
I'm pretty sure this is where I got my plugin, and it's just a 'drop in' and use kind of thing.

Are you talking about the "fingers" version? I checked and there are no wireframe files in my copy.
I used Nifscope to make them. They are not quite the same as the regular TV mesh wireframes or his other Captain Americas.
You people and your GIMP fetishes! (Sorry...had to because I've been saving it up.)
Yeah, my romance with Gimp is fading fast. For the first time since 1998 I can draw faster than the application. And the bleeping thing keeps deactivating my Wacom tablet, and I have to re-activate it exit, and re-start. I'm working on Paint.Net to see how it is. It leaves a lot to be desired ...
I wonder if I have an old copy of Photoshop around here...

Is it the "Cap_America_New_TF" located here: http://tommyboymeshes.freedomforceforever.com/Marvel%20meshes%20C.html
Just wanted to make sure I get you the right one.
That's him.
Cool. If it's alright, then I'll get it to you tomorrow.
I still use CS2. It's completely compatible imo and gets the job done. Saying this because Adobe is giving it away for free right now, go download it.

Funny, that's the version of PS I found. And in the process, I found a bunch of filters that don't work with the version of the program I've been using. :)
Thank you all for your suggestions and help with filters and programs. I'll have to see which DDS filter works with PS7.
Alice: Adobe says their CS2 server is down for maintenance. I guess the overload of traffic broke it.

IF you are willing to wait till Monday, I can get you the DDS filter for PS7...it's put out by Nvidia....
Actually can get it here - https://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-texture-tools-adobe-photoshop
Before I forget, I still need wireframes.
I know there are base skin and lightmap collections, but what about wireframes? Seems like having those available for newbies (and us oldies who have computer trouble) would be advantageous.
DJ: Thanks for the link; I was typing this while you wee typing your post.
^ I use the same filter as DJ shared, works like a charm. My most used plugin for FF is Mike's Killwhite. It makes layering and such ten times easier.

Unless things have changed lately, the authentication server for CS2 is permanently dead, and has been for a few years now. I remember someone here posting about it at the time, with links to download the now free version (IPS? UE?). If you want it, I'll see if I can find the links from what I've got.
If PS7 doesn't pan out, I'll let you know.
Thanks, though; more choices are always welcome.
From my rather limited POV I didn't see any practical differences between PS7 and CS2. I think I found an automatic red-eye tool in CS2, but it provided results that didn't look as good as the manual steps I found online.
Funny, but I found a redeye filter in something else that Adobe produced which worked very well (a stand-alone photo editing program I got with a printer as I remember). I had them both at one point, but don't know where they are now. Like you, I just do it by hand.
On the Wayback Machine I saw a listing for this "pack" on Gamma Patrol, but there is no picture. What is in it? If you have it, could you please send it to me at lonespaceranger@gmail.com.
Or, if you know what was in it, could you tell me?
Thanks!
Oops! Just to be sure, this is not the 6-Pack at Alex's place; these were both on Gammapatrol at the same time.
Has anyone done base skins for Law and Order? If you know where, please tell me. If you have them and it isn't too much trouble, would you e-mail them to lonespaceranger@gmail.com.?
Thanks!
